Tapovan and Yajnya Updates

Bruce Johnson and Anne Godfrey write:
Dear friends of Tapovan,
On March 25th, 2023 we celebrated the 22nd anniversary of 24 hour Yajnya in Tapovan.
It is a great achievement and hearty congratulations to all who have contributed, whether it be by giving their time to perform the Yajnya in shifts, or financial support or any other support which has been given over the many years.

Some of the Tapovan team members who were performing the continuous Om Tryambakam Yajnya – Sanjay Patil, Apruk Patil, Bhushan Patil, Bharat Patil, Tryambak Patil, Prabhakar Patil, Sanjay Kokarni.

Agnihotra and Om Tryambakam fires in the Tapovan Yajnya Shala on the 22nd anniversary.

As many of you know, Anne and I have now returned to Australia, each with some serious health issues, which means we cannot support the Yajnya in the way we have done previously.
We have decided to hand over the fire to Fivefold Path Mission, which means Abhay Paranjpe’s family. It now seems difficult to maintain the fire for 24 hours per day. We may have to reduce the number of hours. Continuing with a reduced number of hours would make sure the energy built up in these 22 years will be preserved.

Hopefully after some time there will be a possibility to get back to the 24 hours Yajnya again after a new start.

We wish Abhay and his family well and hope the fire will continue for many years.

Love and best wishes,
Bruce and Anne

Sarvajit Paranjpe writes:
We are grateful to Bruce and Anne for their life of devotion and dedication in performing 24 hours of Om Tryambakam Yajnya for 22 years.

We will keep trying to maintain 4 hours of Fire at Tapovan, as we also have other places to manage.

We have taken the Om Tryambakam Fire from Tapovan and brought it to Maheshwar Goshala. By this, we wanted to keep the Blessings of Shree Vasant under whose command the Yajnya was started. By this, we also wanted to honor the life and service of Bruce and Anne.

We have established this fire in a Yajnya Kunda at Maheshwar. It will be called ‘Akhand Agni – The Eternal Fire’ as it was present for the past 22 years during the Yajnya. But this Eternal Fire will be kept as the ‘Tretagni’ Fire is maintained. Tretagni fire is required to perform Vedic Yajnyas such as Somayag. This fire is present in an active form or in a passive form as in ember. We will maintain this Eternal Fire as much as we can for the many years to come. Our family also decided to keep a part of the fire in Tapovan, too, so that people coming can take Darshan and remember the great work done at Tapovan.

The Fire represents the Highest Form of Energy through which the World is alive. It represents ascension and purification. And the ashes represent that ultimately, we all are turned down to ashes. And we should not become engrossed in these materialistic body pleasures but channel ourselves into Life’s Higher Pursuits.

We decided to bring the fire on the day of the birth of Lord Hanuman which was 6th April, 2023. Lord Hanuman is a great example of Dedication and Devotion. He is regarded as one of the Greatest Disciples. Om Tryambakam Yajnya was performed all the way from Tapovan to Maheshwar and around 4:40 pm ‘The Eternal Fire’ was established at Maheshwar.

We want to express our love and gratitude in this way.

Love and Respect,
Sarvajit

Purusha Sukta was performed before transferring the fire in the Yajnya Kund at Tapovan and in the pyramid in which the Eternal Fire was to be carried to Maheshwar Goshala.

Welcoming of The Eternal Fire in Maheshwar. Welcome Puja was done by Ishwari Paranjpe. Dr. Ulrich Berk, Germany performing Tryambakam Yajnya along with Sunil, Thakur Verma, Sanjay Kewat.

  1. The Eternal Fire was transferred from Pyramid into the Yajnya Kund by Dr. Ulrich Berk. Prashant and Sanjeevani Patil, Mahesh and Ganga Chauhan, Rajesh Patidar, Nirmala, Kesar Vaskale, the Goshala team, were present.

Two Special Remembrances in May

(Please note: Agnihotra, Fivefold Path and Homa Therapy may be practiced by anyone, regardless of religion, beliefs, or creed. No one is asked to follow any particular individual. However, people sometimes ask about those Messengers who brought forth this knowledge in modern times.)

May 17th marks the birthday of PARAMA SADGURU SHREE GAJANAN MAHARAJ (1918-1987)
of Akalkot, India, who revived the ancient knowledge of Agnihotra and the Fivefold Path for the present day.

Parama Sadguru Shree Gajanan Maharaj

From I Wish I Had Known, by Fran Rosen-Sawyer (now Parvati Rosen-Bizberg):

“Shree is KALKI AVATAR. The word AVATAR means the descent of Divine Power on earth to fulfill an allotted task from Almighty Father. KALKA means pollution; hence, KALKI AVATAR means Divine Messenger for the destruction of pollution. SADGURU means PERFECT MASTER. PARAMA SADGURU means highest among the PERFECT MASTERS.

“Shree’s lineage reflects a glorious spiritual heritage. His mother Sonamata was a great YOGINI. (YOGINI is the feminine term for YOGI.) Shree’s father Shivananda Swami was a renowned NADA BRAHMA YOGI….Shree’s grandfather Tatyaji Maharaj was a saint who possessed great intuitive knowledge of medicine and astrology….

“On Christmas day, December 25th, 1941 Shree’s allotted task was revealed by the Will of Almighty Father…Shree was further informed that the time for unfolding was yet to be…. In 1944 Shree vowed, ‘I will resuscitate the Vedas.’

“Parama Sadguru once said:
‘Whatever Almighty has willed to be done through our instrument shall be done. Our
whole life is totally dedicated to Him. He who revealed to us our allotted task shall grant us
the necessary strength to fulfill it.

‘It is not for us to advise people to follow any particular individual.

‘If it is the will of the Almighty to convey to the world any message through us, He will do so.
We are merely His slaves.

‘We are not votaries of any religious denomination. Whether it is the Bible or the Koran or        the doctrines of Hindus we will convey the message with equal yearning.

‘We have asked people not to call us GURU. Many have imposed Guruhood on us. Many           have experienced superhuman powers with us. Many have witnessed miracles. We are mere witness of, not the doers of these things.

‘We surrendered totally to the Almighty and He started utilizing our body as His instrument.
Each one has to tread his path of Self-realization.’”

Parama Sadguru Shree Gajanan Maharaj left the mortal coil on December 6, 1987. In reference to the lineage after He left the Body, Shree stated that after Us, comes Vedas; after Us, comes the Fire. There is no lineage. The Fire is of utmost importance.

Shree Vasant Paranjpe

May 13th marks the birthday of Shree Vasant V. Paranjpe, who left the body on December 30,
2008, at Maheshwar, India.

Words could never convey the impact of His life on countless people around the world to whom He carried the message of Agnihotra and Fivefold Path. In His mission, He circled the globe year after year, serving with unwavering devotion, utmost humility, astonishing energy and boundless love. He was instrumental in transforming the lives of people from all walks of life.

He so scrupulously avoided personal attention throughout His life of service, and never sought to collect followers. (For years, He declined to have His photo in this newsletter, which He Himself founded.) In total humility, He guided people to focus on the message of Yajnya, Daan, Tapa, Karma, Swadhyaya–not the messenger.

Following are some highlights from Shree Vasant’s life of service:

In 1970, Parama Sadguru Shree Gajanan Maharaj of Akalkot, India, who resuscitated Agnihotra and the Fivefold Path of Vedas in modern times, commanded Shree Vasant:
“Our words which lead to BLISS, convey them to all the people.”

Thus began Shree Vasant’s thirty-eight years of travel and teaching, of Grace and total surrender to the Divine.

In 1972 He began teaching in the U.S. In 1973 He became the founder president of Fivefold Path, Inc., a nonprofit organization established in Madison, Virginia. In that same year, Shree Gajanan Maharaj commanded Shree Vasant to start this Satsang newsletter.

On September 22, 1973, Shree Vasant inaugurated the Parama Dham Fire Temple in Madison,
Virginia, the first Fire Temple in the world established under Shree Gajanan Maharaj’s dispensation of ancient science of atmospheric purification for the New Age.

In 1974 Shree Vasant carried the message to Europe. Over the years, His mission also took Him to South America, Australia, Africa and Asia. He was instrumental in bringing Agnihotra and Fivefold Path to thousands of people all over the planet.

In today’s world He pioneered the use of Homa Therapy in agriculture, psychotherapy, alternative medicine, self-development and healing the environment. Under His guidance, Homa farms and centers such as Ecovillage Bhrugu Aranya in Poland, Om Shree Dham farm in Australia, Ancient Oaks farm in U.S.A. and Tapovan in India, came forth.

He is the author of Grace Alone, Light Towards Divine Path, Ten Commandments of Parama Sadguru and Homa Therapy, Our Last Chance. His books have been translated into many languages.

Over forty years ago, many of His talks and writings warned of the environmental degradation and deterioration that have come to pass in virtually all parts of the globe today, in the forms of atmospheric pollution, nuclear radiation hazards, water pollution, soil fatigue, noise pollution and more. But along with these warnings, He offered a solution that people all over the world could use to heal themselves and their environment–Agnihotra and Fivefold Path.

Glimpses of Shree Vasant’s life can be found in Messenger of the Sacred Fire, the Extraordinary Life and Works of Shree Vasant Paranjpe by Parvati Rosen-Bizberg. In it, a number of people from various countries have shared their experiences with Shree Vasant and the spread of Agnihotra around the planet. But perhaps the greater story of His life is just beginning to unfold, as people the world over continue His mission.

In February, 2009, another important milestone was achieved: Homa Therapy Teacher Certification training. The certification program is a means of accurately preserving and conveying the Vedic knowledge given by Parama Sadguru Shree Gajanan Maharaj and taught worldwide by Shree Vasant Paranjpe. Through the program, Homa Therapy teachers can be more thoroughly and consistently trained, so that a uniform message of the teachings of Homa Therapy goes out to the world. This also promotes unity among Homa Therapy teachers.

Homa Therapy Teacher Certification courses have been given at Tapovan farm in India, Ecovillage Bhrugu Aranya in Poland, and the Resonance Point, Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A.

Agnihotra and Homa Therapy as taught by Certified Homa Therapy teachers are very specific practices. Many things on internet are called Agnihotra or Homa Therapy, but are not the same as given by Maharaj Shree and taught by Shree Vasant.  The wonderful results people have gotten and the scientific research on Agnihotra were obtained by people using the exact methods taught by Certified Homa Therapy teachers.

Homa Therapy logo

To help people distinguish between the practices taught by Certified Homa Therapy teachers and other things, the legal trademark of a Homa Therapy logo was created in 2010, to be used solely by our international network of Homa Therapy centers and teachers.

Another unfoldment of Shree Vasant’s work was a series of seven Maha Somayags, beginning in 2007 and reaching successful completion in February, 2017. These very powerful, special Yajnyas, held at the Homa Therapy Goshala on the banks of the River Narmada in Maheshwar, Madya Pradesh, India, unleashed tremendous healing energy for our planet.

Homa Therapy Goshala of Fivefold Path Mission, Maheshwar, India again served as the site of special purpose Vedic Yajnyas.  Sautramani Yag was peacefully conducted from 26-28th December 2018.  Persons from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal were present for this Yajnya. Nakshatra Yajnya was successfully performed from January 17th to 21st, 2019, attended by people from India, Austria, Germany, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Japan, Australia, and North and South America.

An important goal was reached on March 25, 2023 at Tapovan Homa farm, where they
celebrated the completion of 22 years of continuous, round-the-clock Om Tryambakam Homa. Given the small number of people who have carried out this work, this achievement is nothing short of miraculous. Our congratulations and thanks to all who helped achieve this goal.

Ecovillage Bhrugu Aranya, Poland, continues making great strides in building the Centre of Light, Shree Vasant’s vision of an international environmental educational and healing center. (Please see the article below.)

Around the world, Homa Therapy teachers strive to make the teachings of Agnihotra, Fivefold Path and Homa Therapy available to all.  This task took a great leap forward on May 13th, 2020. In honor of the 99th birth anniversary of Shree Vasant,  Fivefold Path Mission announced that it has made Shree Vasant’s books available on Amazon. This step was planned as a gift and service. The books are available in Kindle and paperback formats.

Beginning in 2020, as COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns prevented some of the usual events at which Agnihotra and Homa Therapy are taught, Homa Therapy teachers began  adapting and using new methods. Several Homa Therapy centers are conducting Zoom and Facebook online Agnihotra classes and meetings. As the pandemic fades, we hope that more in-person events can resume.

In honor of Shree Vasant’s 100th birth anniversary, an international online event was held on May 13, 2021. Over 375 people participated, from India, South America, Poland, Australia, US, Austria, Spain, Holland, Mexico, Switzerland, Slovenia, Czech Republic and Germany. See the video here: https://youtu.be/uOSuS2CPoPw

March 25th, 2023 marked the completion of 22 years of continuous 24 hour Yajnya in Tapovan, India. (Please see the above article.) Satsang extends heartfelt gratitude to all who have contributed to this historic achievement.

From May 13-19, 2023 another continuous Global Om Tryambakam Homa program was successfully completed, with Agnihotris from many countries participating. The event was organized by Homa Therapy teachers Abel Hernandez and Aleta Macan.

Step by step, Agnihotra moves toward a wider audience. More scientific research on Agnihotra has been, and is being, conducted.  Internet and social media allow us to disseminate information on Agnihotra more quickly than ever before. It is impossible to truly sum up the spread of Agnihotra, Fivefold Path and Homa Therapy today. We may read about events and milestones on the aforementioned websites, but there is no way to chronicle the work that goes on quietly, behind the scenes, all over the world, or the great changes that take place within the hearts and minds of Agnihotris and Fivefold Path practitioners around the globe.

A precious heritage has been entrusted to all of us who have been taught Agnihotra, the Fivefold Path and Homa Therapy. We can honor this priceless gift by striving to manifest these teachings more fully in our lives, and by sharing this knowledge with others. Believe what you experience.

Centre of Light Update

Ecovillage Bhrugu Aranya
Poland

Fundacja Terapia Homa (one of Poland’s oldest Foundations, 31 years!) is the parent of Ecovillage Bhrugu Aranya, created to be a blueprint for other Homa farm communities around the world.

Here our international ecovillage community has been maintaining Agnihotra in various places on the farm, 5 hours of Om Tryambakam Yajnya daily, and 24 hours Yajnya on full and new moon days.

We are all dedicated to teaching Agnihotra and Homa Therapy in Poland and to others in Europe, especially.

We have been fortunate to welcome guests and volunteers from all around the world. The fires reach all corners of the world!
This past year has been quite busy with outreach. We were contacted by a popular private television station, TVN Style, to have them film our ecovillage. It was quite a fun couple of days. We showed Agnihotra en masse inside the Arts Studio at Centre of Light. They toured the farm, our gardens and beekeeping, saw our lovely Homa cows, experienced a vegetarian feast and a lively women’s circle, and interviewed many of us here. The resultant film was well-received, shown several times in one week.
Right after that, Ramsey United, a local YouTube channel, interviewed us and filmed our Ecovillage. It was quite popular on YouTube and stirred up a lot of interest in Agnihotra and the lifestyle here. In that video, we did Agnihotra on the balcony of Centre of Light overlooking the majestic Tatra Mountains.

Every week, our community also gathers to do healing circles during 12:00 Homa with Gayatri Mantra.

We have Women’s Circles on Thursday evenings—we sing, dance, draw, pray, do healing circles, and end with Agnihotra together.

On Sundays we have Satsang at 12 noon and often a Homa family feast, with potluck offerings from all the residents living here. We’re good cooks! And music jams also follow!

We had a lively gathering for Earth Day, an Open House, feast and fire! We also receive many people coming to learn Agnihotra.

Every year, Jarek participates in Agni Ayurveda Conference online, in Polish.

We continue to work to manifest Shree Vasant’s vision of Centre of Light, our ongoing project which is completed on the outside, but the interior is still a work in progress. (More info from Rory – see below.)

We are grateful  to be caretakers on this sacred land, considered by Shree to be one of the three Points of Light.
We welcome visitors always. Just write ahead, please.

Rudra Yajnya performed on May 17th, 2023 in our Parashuram Healing Temple, led by Rory Maher (main Yajnyaman- top row 3rd from left), to celebrate our beloved Shree Gajanan Maharaj’s birthdate.

There was much progress last year on the Centre of Light, and after a long winter, we are now back on track painting the ceilings on all three floors. The next steps will be to install the remaining wood panel flooring and stairs, and then the bathroom and light fittings, furniture etc.

We are focusing on opening the Centre of Light by next Spring, if not fully, then at least partially, so that we can provide workshop space, some accommodation, and kitchen facilities. To this end, we are gearing up to launch a new fundraising campaign. So please subscribe here to our newsletter to receive updates and to learn how you can be part of Shree Vasant’s vision and help create a better world together.

Homa Therapy Experiences

Bhamesh S. Bagratee
Riviere du Poste, Mauritius

Little did I know of Agnihotra, or probably just heard of it without knowing its essence. While strolling through Facebook, I happened to see a beautiful set of an Agnihotra kit. I principally thought of purchasing this cute-little-looking hawan kund with its tongs and plate for hawan practice at home. But, I then got in touch with the person who mentioned that these kits are specifically designed for Agnihotra and Homa Therapy. I purchased one and started my first trials with Agnihotra. It is not a difficult practice, but one needs the exact and precise timetable for one’s location. Then I started performing Agnihotra.

What had started out as a curiosity, became an “addiction”. Often, my internal clock sends me a signal of what is to be a few minutes before the precise time of Agnihotra practice. I did miss sunrise sessions, but it became a must for me to do sunset Agnihotra.

This also brought back a discipline I had lost years back, of my Sandhya time and at the same time, a discipline got reorganized in my mental system in restructuring myself, from getting back in alignment to my true self, rather than being erratic because of daily routines.

In due time, while I had seen a peaking value of cholesterol and triglycerides in my blood sample before starting Agnihotra, I got back to normal only after 2 months of practicing it. I have to mention that I have not yet started consuming the Agnihotra ash; it was solely through Agnihotra practice. Simultaneously, I had noticed that my heart used to race due to various reasons, but that too started to calm down and I halted medications thereafter.

While I am speaking of some health issues, spiritually a heightened spirit and energy was felt since the very first week of starting its practice. At the precise time of rice-ghee offering, I could sense and see a change in the hue of the atmosphere, basically in a pinkish-violet-blue. I realized that such a hue is due to that precise timing of the dawning sun–so to say, vibrational level changes, and most of the time, we are unaware of its happenings. My perceptions got heightened.

After weeks of practice, I started  Om Tryambakam Homa alongside Agnihotra, after Agnihotra and waiting for the fire to subside. In doing so, the Mantra became imbibed in this practice. My evening Sandhya became more of an offering than a just-doing action. After that, I naturally plunged into a deep meditation, if I can say so. With no effort, but reaching a natural state of stillness and being–a state which is more than words can describe, but an experience in itself. No Mantra, but silence of the mind. Like a certain sound of silence, if I may say so.

I did miss certain sessions, especially during the end of year/ beginning of year festivities. I was conscious of that lack of practice and missed it. I could sense what it is –not practicing and practicing, the difference in state of mind and emotions, the difference of state of spiritual feeling.

While I mention the atmospheric change, I also have to mention that the vibration of our home has evolved too – living in a constant state of bliss, with a feeling of joy at home, and like a smile in the heart. Communications became more subtle and silent sweet speaking. Despite being the only person practicing both Agnihotra and Tryambakam at home, the effect is clear and obvious.

Both, Agnihotra and Tryambakam Homa are a magical inner alchemical process that contribute to be what we have forgotten to be – being oneself.

From Shree Vasant’s Teachings

On Agnihotra Fire
Agnihotra fire, IF YOU REALLY WANT MAXIMUM EFFECT, should be prepared in such a way that there is a hole in the very center of the pyramid, made by building the dung with ghee around it. It should be lit enough in advance so that the fire coming from the hole is burning freely with maximum energy. Then when we say the Mantra we hold the rice and ghee in Deer Mudra (Mrugi Mudra) with thumb between middle and ring fingers and index and small finger straight. Then from the heart, reach the hand towards the fire and drop the rice in the hole, in the actual fire as we say, “Swaha.” This should only be done with the right hand. Right hand is giving energy; left hand is taking energy. All the ingredients in the pyramid should be consumed by the fire; all should be ash. The fire should not be disturbed once it is lit, the Mantras are chanted and the rice is placed.

On Using Time Wisely
There is no time to waste. Act quickly but never in haste. Move and speak directly but never with anger. Complete tasks in a timely, efficient manner but never be rushed. Do not allow yourself to become frantic with worry. Do not allow yourself to be paralyzed by fear or riddled with doubts.

Do not act on impulse. Never respond out of emotion. Only LOVE.

On Envy
You should never feel envious of another person. If someone else’s life appears simple to you, you should say, “What is it that the person is doing to simplify his life? What priorities are set in order to simplify life?” You will notice that the priorities are being set, disciplines are being kept and service is being given without expectation. This makes life simple. This is all Grace.

Fivefold Path for Happy Living

1. Yajnya
HOMA Therapy is the science of purification of the atmosphere through the agency of FIRE. AGNIHOTRA HOMA (YAJNYA) is the basic HOMA. It is tuned to the biorhythm of sunrise/sunset and gives nutrients to the plant kingdom, removes diseases in a certain area and removes tension on the mind. This is the basic process in the Vedic sciences of medicine, agriculture, climate engineering and interplanetary communication.
2. Daan
Sharing of your assets in a spirit of humility. This corrects imbalance in financial matters and creates non-attachment to worldly possessions.
3. Tapa
Self-discipline of body and mind. This is conducive to a change in attitudes of mind and body. It results in a harmonious state of mind.
4. Karma
“You reap as you sow.” Always practicing good Karma (actions) diminishes the burden of negative Karma and one begins to invest in his own future. This means that what you do today will bring its fruits. Sowing seeds of love and kindness will bless my garden with plenty of love. Do Karma for self-purification.
5. Swadhyaya
Practice Swadhyaya (Self-study) for liberation. Who am I? Why am I here? My work on this planet is to learn to react with total LOVE with each opportunity given to me.

This is the Fivefold Path for happy living on the planet. By practicing the Fivefold Path you become better members of your society, group, religion, community, etc.
