Agnihotra—Solution to Pollution

Ed.

On February 3, 2023, in East Palestine, Ohio, a derailed Norfolk Southern train spilled toxic chemicals, which led to a controlled burn of the substances. State and federal officials assert that they haven’t found dangerous levels of chemicals in the air or municipal water, but citizens are worried. The chemicals released are known to cause a wide range of ailments, including skin irritation, breathing difficulty, eye irritation, headaches, vomiting and tissue corrosion. Some residents have experienced such symptoms, and worry about long-term effects. Concerns have spread well beyond Ohio, as hazardous waste from the cleanup is being transported to other states for disposal.

Again and again we see environmental disasters in the news. The East Palestine, Ohio tragedy is yet another reason to practice Agnihotra Ayurvedic healing fire, to purify the atmosphere and help undo the effects of pollution of the air, water and soil. Shree Vasant Paranjpe, who taught us Agnihotra in 1973, warned decades ago that catastrophes such as this would happen.

A growing body of scientific research is showing that Agnihotra neutralizes pollutants and purifies water resources. Dr. Ulrich Berk writes:
Chemical air pollution refers to chemical compounds detrimental to our health. Modern technology has brought a lot of such compounds into our homes, many of them potentially harmful for humans. A series of experiments was conducted recently at Vikram University, Ujjain, M.P., and at North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, India. They tested the chemical compounds SOx and NOx which are produced by any form of combustion, and the levels are getting alarmingly high–especially in cities, because of all the cars with combustion engines. Also these experiments measured physical pollution, i.e. particle pollution. See the results:

Ambient Air Quality Report

(Values are in µg/m3)

Sampling Period: – 30 min

Date Time SOx NOx RSPM SPM
28/03/2016 5:15 to 5:45 Before Homa 7.9 27.3 105 69
28/03/2016 6:30 to 7:00 During Homa 6.2 23.7 75 63
28/03/2016 7:00 to 7:30 After Homa 8.3 29.1 152 83
29/03/2016 10:30 to 11:00 After 15 hrs of Homa 5.6 21.9 56 47

SOx: Sulfur Oxides

NOx: Oxides of Nitrogen

RSPM: Respirable Suspended Particulate Matter (particle size equal or less than 10 micrometres – these small particles can go deep into our respiratory system).

SPM: Suspended Particulate Matter (particles floating in the air)

The sampling was done with a high-volume air sampler which sucks in the air and then presses it through a filter. Particles are stuck in the filter, depending on the filter specifications.

Although the values go up a little bit after Agnihotra (which is to be expected, as fire creates some level of SOx, NOx, as well as some smoke, which means particles), after some time all values go down well below the levels we had before Agnihotra. This means that Agnihotra purifies our air also from these chemical and physical pollutants. The experiments were done both at sunrise and at sunset in order to rule out any effects of normal variations between day and night.1

More technical information on research on Agnihotra is available upon request.

Initial studies also indicate that Agnihotra improves the body’s capacity to deal with stress situations, and is likely to help remove pollutants from the body.

The December 2-3,1984 Bhopal chemical disaster at the Union Carbide plant in Madhya Pradesh, India killed over 3,700 people and injured over half a million; two families living about a mile from the most affected area emerged unharmed. They had been performing Agnihotra for some years. At the time of the Bhopal tragedy most of the Indian newspapers highlighted the wonderful curative effects of Agnihotra. A news report excerpt from ‘The Hindu’ – Sunday, April 7, 1985 published from Chennai is as follows:

On the night of December 2-3 1984 S.L. Kushwaha (45) a teacher woke up at 1.30 on hearing his wife Triveni (36) vomiting. Soon he and his children also began coughing, feeling chest pain, burning in the eyes and suffocation. Looking out of their home they saw people fleeing in panic. One of them told Kushwaha of the gas leak in the Union Carbide Factory about a mile away. They decided to join the crowd and run when Triveni suggested “Why not start doing Agnihotra?” They did, and within 20 minutes the symptoms of MIC [methyl isocyanate] gas poisoning went away.

M.L. Rathore (33), with his wife, four children, mother and brother lives near the Bhopal Railway station, where dozens of people died of MIC poisoning. Rathore who had started doing Agnihotra five years ago, began doing the Homa, and continued with the “Tryambakam Homa.”

These are but two examples of Agnihotra coming to the rescue of the gas stricken people of Bhopal. Efforts are on to find out how many of the Agnihotris were benefited by the homa in Bhopal.

The positive effects of Agnihotra benefited lots of gas affected people and among them the experience of the Prajapati family stands out as the most outstanding one. Shri O.N. Prajapati’s wife was severely affected and was in a very critical condition. Shri Prajapati himself suffered severe irritation and redness of the eyes. His two sons were also badly affected. In such circumstances he started performance of Agnihotra.

Favourable result was inevitable. He himself got cured in a week’s time. His wife, however, took months to get fully cured. One of his sons, who was 13 years old, was diagnosed to be suffering from TB (Tuberculosis). Shri Prajapati having himself experienced the astonishing curing power of Agnihotra did not opt for treatment of his son under any other prevalent pathy’s but preferred Agnihotra chikitsa (treatment). His son was completely cured due to the positive effects of Agnihotra atmosphere, Mahamrityunjay Yagnya [Om Tryambakam Homa] and regular use of Agnihotra ash as medicine. The most astonishing thing is that Shri Prajapati’s youngest daughter, who was born one year after the gas tragedy, is the healthiest among his five children.

Contamination of nearby waterways is another concern in the wake of the East Palestine chemical spill. Agnihotra and Agnihotra ash have been shown to have a purifying effect on these as well. Dr. Ulrich Berk writes:

Scientific experiments also show that Agnihotra and Agnihotra Ash purify water. We are advised to add Agnihotra Ash to our drinking water, and many of us are doing so regularly. Why is that recommended? The reason is: Agnihotra Ash removes pathogenic bacteria from water. This has been tested a number of times. One impressive experiment was done by Dr. John Matlander of Cuenca, Ecuador.

Dr John Matlander:
“The experiment involved a gallon of infected water that I had for several weeks. Before using it, I requested a doctor to analyze it with a potent microscope. He told me that the water was cultivating fungi, staphylococcus and streptococci. Before throwing it away, I put some of this water in a 200 ml glass and added two teaspoons of Agnihotra ash. I mixed it well and left it for 3 days.

“Then I returned it to the doctor and asked for further investigation with the microscope and he said, ‘Completely pure water.’ So I told him that this was the same water he had analyzed 3 days ago and the doctor thought that this was impossible, completely impossible. But it happened this way; the Agnihotra ash had made this water completely pure.”

 That means: Agnihotra purifies water.

But even if we do not add Agnihotra Ash to water but just keep water in some bottle next to the Agnihotra fire, the water gets purified. This was shown by Dr. John Matlander in an additional experiment.

There was a 77% reduction in the number of colonies containing Klebsiella and Enterobacterium S.P. and an 81% reduction in Escherichia Coli.

Similar experiments done in Maheshwar Homa Therapy Goshala, Madhya Pradesh, India confirmed this result: Just keeping water in some container next to the Agnihotra fire purifies water. This leads to the hypothesis that not only Agnihotra Ash, but also the fumes of Agnihotra have the potency to purify water. But what happens if the water bottles are closed so that neither ash nor fumes of Agnihotra get into contact with the water examined? The water still got purified!  Parameters measured were COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), DO (Dissolved Oxygen), pH, total hardness, and count of coliform bacteria.

Quite an astonishing result, as in this experiment– different from those mentioned before – there was no contact with Agnihotra Ash or with Agnihotra fumes. Therefore, the effect cannot be explained by some sort of chemical reaction.

It seems there is some kind of energy field around the Agnihotra fire which brings about this effect of water purification.

We have seen that Agnihotra Ash, Agnihotra fumes, and even just proximity to Agnihotra fire are helping to purify water. All these experiments were done using small quantities of water. The water was kept in bottles of 200 ml up to 1 litre.

But what about larger bodies of water?
Pollution of rivers, lakes, and oceans is a big environmental concern. But of course that is a big challenge to achieve some improvement. Still, some initial results could be obtained.

The following photos show one part of the Narmada River, Madhya Pradesh, India, before and after Agnihotra Ash had been added. Within three days a big improvement could be seen:

The Narmada River before Agnihotra ash was added.
The Narmada River after Agnihotra ash was added.

This shows that it is a very good habit to regularly add some of your Agnihotra Ash to water bodies in your vicinity. If you have your own well, then best to do so regularly.

But not only the Agnihotra ash helps – also the healing atmosphere of Agnihotra (and other Homa fires) helps to purify water. Below see the results of monitoring the water quality of the Narmada River in Central India. Water samples were taken at Omkareshwar upstream from the Homa Therapy Goshala (which is situated next to the banks of the Narmada River), adjacent to our Homa Therapy Goshala and further downstream at Barwani. In all the different parameters, the water next to this Homa Therapy Goshala was best – and it was the only place where the water was fulfilling the standards set by the World Health Organization. This initial result shows that Homa places do have an effect on larger water bodies such as a big river.2

Satsang would encourage those living in the areas affected by the East Palestine disaster to practice Agnihotra and put Agnihotra ash into the waterways. Also, Agnihotra ash can be used to make home remedies. Agnihotra ash is available free, upon request, but there is a special effect from using Agnihora ash from an Agnihotra one has performed oneself. Shree Vasant taught,
“It is true that Agnihotra atmosphere heals and a special system is set up in ancient tradition whereby the person who performs Agnihotra, when they ingest the ash from the Agnihotra they performed, the Agnihotra ash becomes especially healing, as does the Agnihotra.

“Another reason why everyone should make their own Agnihotra pyramid fire.”

Agnihotra is always taught free. Visit agnihotra.org for more information, or contact info@agnihotra.org. We are always at your service to teach Agnihotra.

January 12, 2023, Orion on Truth
Yes, yes. The unfolding of Truth is occurring now, even in those who have long been in
denial of it. This is the era of Truth. Of course, as you know, the truth can be told in a
palatable manner—and thus, will reach its goal. One who holds the truth within has a
righteous duty to impart that truth whenever possible. However, there are various ways
to impart truth.

One is through the avenue of speech. If truth is to be told via speech, one must choose
carefully not only the words themselves but the timing of delivery and the recipient of
such delivery.

Another way to impart the Truth can be through the written word, again with caution and
clarity. As well, truth can be imparted via sound, music, poetry or via any avenue of the
creative arts.

Many great beings whose very presence is said to be inspiring—even enlightening to
some—choose the way of no words, no material delivery. Instead they choose simply to
live the Truth and affect the masses by the way they conduct their lives, the way they
walk through life, the way they carry themselves and how they treat those around them.
We would say that this is of all, the highest way to impart truth in a world so devoid of
such.

When one chooses to walk the path of Truth, their silence speaks louder and
clearer than any words could speak. One learns simply by breathing the same
rarified air as this human being who walks with Divine.

Still, when one has the opportunity to impart wisdom one has received, do so in a quiet
manner without expectation, without pride or awareness of one’s own greatness.
Always defer to Almighty when receiving accolades for your truth telling. Receive and
give in the same manner. Thus, one incurs the blessing of GRACE.

On Listening to the Earth and Living in Harmony
Do create safe zones, places of Light, where all life is respected as sacred, where
humans and animals live in harmony.
Endeavour to become more self-sufficient.
Grow your own food and develop a network of others who can exchange seeds and
products, when possible.
Learn to walk lightly upon the Earth.
Listen.
Listen to the trees.
Listen to the birds.
Listen to the Earth as she calls you to Her.
These are deeply troubling, chaotic times. These are times which divide families and
tear at one’s deepest roots. However, these are also the times of the great return.
Listen. Listen. Listen.
The calling is in the wind.
Listen. Listen. Listen.
Blessings be upon you all.
We are,
ORION.

On Judgment

Cathleen Gantt

Cathleen Gantt
Indian Head, Maryland, U.S.A.

In December, Maria Broom sent out a quotation from Shree Vasant on moving into the Light:

“There has never been a greater time in history to be moving into Light. There has never been so much of a push toward the Light. Transformation of mind comes with very little effort.

“Have faith.  Have patience.  Be grateful. All the time grateful.”

In order to move into the Light we have to visit JUDGMENT.

In the book, Orion Transmissions Prophecy, I noticed that from the beginning to the end of this book, never to judge is constantly being talked about. Judgment/being judgmental is very important to understand so that we may start working on how not to judge another. Thus, we may move into the LIGHT.  I copied statements on judgment to help all of us to understand how not to judge, and to realize that if judgment is not gone from us, we cannot and will not move too far into the Light.

Pages 23-24
“Our message here and now concerns JUDGMENT, its purpose and effect.  NO MATTER WHAT, WE SHOULD NEVER JUDGE A FELLOW HUMAN BEING.  One can speak one’s mind, one can share one’s feelings, one can even give guidance when appropriate, but never judge. Judgment is like closing the doors to Truth. When you judge another, the case is closed.  Once judgment is rendered, the person must live with its effect and you must live with it as well.  When you have strength and refuse to give in to judgment, the release of the heart is like opening of floodgates for angels of mercy to enter unto you.  What a joy! What exquisite joy. It is the exact opposite of judgment.  It is not mere acceptance.  It is much higher than that. One does not need to remain silent. One can speak one’s heart and mind, but when judgment is missing, one’s words have powerful, healing effect. Therefore, it is judgment that has destroyed nations. Judgment has started wars, created conflicts. Judgment blocks PEACE.  What is the ‘peace process’? Peace is not a process. It is. It exists already. One must complicate the thinking to make peace a process, unjustifiably.”

You can see what a balancing act one must achieve, to be able to speak one’s mind, share one’s feelings, give guidance when appropriate, but never judge. I thought all those things were considered judging. So it looks as if you have much more room for your voice, once you learn how to do these things without judging.

Page 28
“The entity known to you as Shree is here to teach you humility, self-restraint, purity of thought, word and deed, and SERVICE. He has said, ‘Let there be no judgment.’ Thus, it is imperative that you adhere to this advice. The moment you release this judgment, all will be given to you. The moment.”

Page 30
“We have long since abandoned the concept of right/wrong.  It is not so simple. Every action has a reaction.  We never can know what action has caused what reaction or as you say, ‘Where was that guy coming from?’  Simply watch life unfolding before you.  Be gracious, be grateful.  You do not know what it is to be in another’s shoes. Do not judge. Allow for the natural compassion to carry you forward.”

Pages 30-31
“Anger is impossible without judgment.Do you understand how closely these are related? Judgment breeds anger and anger feeds judgment, actually increases it.

“Mind is so precious an instrument and in this time, there is so little ‘time’ to waste, utilizing this precious instrument called ‘mind’ to worry, fear, judge others or create imaginary disturbances that do not exist and in all probability would not otherwise occur. Ah, the human race. However, our work is to take those who are ready to higher heights, so to speak, in their evolution. Our job is to assist you humans with awareness to save the Earth as you know it. It is an awesome task.”

Page 69
“Where there is Love, all fear dissolves, all resentment fades, all deceit is unmasked. Where there is Love, there can be no fear, no judgment as judgment does not originate in the heart.”

Page 75
“Refrain, if you will, from all judgment of one another, for it is judgment that breeds division and it is in that precise moment of division that dark forces are able to infiltrate. Let there be no division amongst you.”

Pages 81-82
“Yes, Yes, We would remind the vehicle* as well as others not to render judgment against another human. It is neither your work nor is it bringing you true joy. We suggest that you all seek to find what is good in the next person and focus on that. This has the effect of strengthening that which you find positive and returning that, gives it more power. We strongly ask you all to refrain from judgment and to go a step further toward the light. Ah, indeed these are times when all conflicts must be resolved. As was told to you before, to enter the next dimension, ‘baggage’ is limited. Travel Light! Yes. Yes. Start now to reduce this baggage of resentments, jealousies, hatred, fear. Reduce baggage of the past, memories, worries, past sufferings.  Certainly it is fine to reminisce, but do not dwell on the pain of the past for it is indeed dead. We do not wish to resurrect this. And therefore, we might suggest involvement in developing farms, gardening, creative arts, music.  Concentrate on that which is healing and positive.  There is so much joyous work to be done now.”

Page 96
“Help one another.  Without judgment, one is unhindered in one’s swift development, as time has indeed speeded up as you say.”

Page 167
“Do not waste time trying to affect a change in others. They will change if and when they decide to. You can speak your truth from your heart, but there can be no judgment in it. Until you are judgment free you cannot, in effect, assist another person in whom you have judgment.”

Page188
“In such communities, let there be no judgment. Let there be no self-righteousness. Let there be tolerance and understanding. Let there be harmony and unity. This is preparation for the New World. Begin to build it now.”

Page 229
“We would advise all beings whose work on this planet has been revealed to them, to begin to release all forms of judgment,if you have not already. Judgment is binding, when what one needs is to be free. We ask that all of you work to become what you wish to be. Wishing will not get you there. Be that which you yearn to be. If you admire humility in another being, let it be an inspiration to you, but take it a step further. Be humble. It is not a forced effort. Keep arrogance in check, but do not become self-critical. If you are arrogant, observe moments when that comes to the surface, check it and transform it. Change it. Rearrange it.  But, never judge yourself for it. Ah, that is indeed the most difficult, for those who judge are their own harshest critics.  Accept yourself. Acceptance is like opening the curtains on a new stage.  A new play begins, one of JOY and of honouring the self and others.”

Page 232
“Ah, yes, dear ones, clear away any preconceived notions you may have about a people, a religion, a sex. Have no judgment at all in your hearts. Prejudice, judgment, let it go.”

Page 348
“Yes, yes, yes.  Release all preconceptions of good and bad, right and wrong.  Not all of life can be categorized as such.  Often, these difficulties are what you need to make you strong.”

Page 356
“Fear is the weakening point in human race that allows for incorrect judgment, doubt and confusion.”

Page 427
“At one point, one must reduce one’s tendency toward judgment.  Even if one is right, one is not entitled, therefore, to form a judgment toward another individual.”

Pag 446
“THE WAY TO GOD OR ENLIGHTENMENT IS NOT DEPENDENT UPON SUNDAY MORNING RITUALS OR SABBATH PRAYERS ANY MORE THAN IT IS DEPENDENT UPON YOGA ASANAS OR CHANTING OF MANTRAS.  The way can be intensified by these acts, in that they refocus the being’s energy toward Higher Realms, but guard against the judgment of others who do not practice the same way to God.  Indeed, VARIED ARE THE WAYS TO THE DIVINE.”

Homa Therapy Experiences

Mr. Luis giving his testimony to the Complementary Medicine Department of CERPS – EsSalud, state social security system of Peru

Mr. Luis
Piura, Peru, South America

I had problems with my platelets. They would drop to 10,000 (the normal value of platelets is between 150,000 and 450,000 platelets/µL of blood) and I would have to go many times to the emergency room and from one clinic to another, because in this city we have no hematologist.

One night I went through three clinics. Then I started with a specific treatment, but the platelets either went up little by little, or they went up and down again. There was no solution. I already had bloody blisters in my mouth. The doctor told me that there was a time when I didn’t even have platelets.

In this situation, I began to go to the Homa Therapy sessions, and since then my platelets no longer decreased; they maintain their level. Gradually, the doctors lowered all my medications.
Now, my platelets are perfect and I have not taken any medication for a year. As a result of participating in the Agnihotra fire and taking its ash, my healing began step by step. It harmonized my entire system.

Lavi and Mario Aguilar

Mario Aguilar
Coquimbo, Chile, South America

I greet you in light, peace and love, and may health and prosperity reach everyone through Agnihotra.

I have been practicing Agnihotra for twenty years together with my wife Lavi and taught it to our four children. We also practice the discipline of Tryambakam Homa.

Here are some of my experiences with Homa Therapy in Agriculture (2011):
1) In my house, we have a patio fifteen meters wide by 3 meters long. The soil was so hard, similar to limestone (caliche) where the pick or hoe bounces back, because it is too hard. We have had the joy and great honor that Master Shree Vasant came to our house, accompanied by sister Irma García.

Now I grow vegetables in this patio (corn, beans, chard, broccoli, tomato, maca, lettuce) and I fertilize them with Agnihotra ash. I put this ash in a cotton bag and water it with a hose and I place the ash bag at the beginning of the rows, and the ash dissolves as the water runs through. I also fumigate the plants with water prepared with Agnihotra ash, to avoid plagues and pests. I have a couple of squares, each of them 1.50 square meters, one with parsley and the other with cilantro. The maintenance that I give to the vegetables is the same as usual, but the difference is that they are only fertilized with Agnihotra ash and they grow in Homa atmosphere.

The production in this plot is so much that we can share with our neighbors. They participate in Agnihotra and also take the ash home until they manage to prepare their own.

In this garden, I have several trees, among them lemon, lucuma, two custard apple trees, a fig tree, an olive tree, and in the middle of these I grow vegetables. I use water with Agnihotra ash. I also put a little bit of Agnihotra ash on the trees and they don’t need any other fertilizer.

For example, the lucuma tree is not more than two meters high. However, I have to put some support below the lower branches because they are full of fruits. It has so many branches and this way they won’t break.

The lemon tree gives lemons the size of a tennis ball, with thin skin and they are pure juice.
The cherimoya tree bears fruits of almost one kilo each and in the size of a soccer ball.
The fig tree is amazing. If you eat one of the figs you feel so full as if you have had lunch. The figs are about the size of an avocado and very juicy and sweet.

All these things are benefits of Agnihotra and its ash. In addition to fertilizing the trees with this ash, I also fumigate them with Agnihotra ash water and I am constantly practicing the Homa Therapy fires.

2) I have a friend who has a lemon plantation and on one occasion he told me that it was affected by a plague of aphids. I told him to pour the Agnihotra ash water on the lemon trees and everything went well.

From Shree Vasant’s Teachings

On Using One’s Abilities
We have to work within the context of our own abilities, or own stored up impressions and imagination. Use what you have been given to further this message of LOVE. It can go through any medium–music, art, science. Of course, the message is essentially scientific but we must utilize to the fullest all avenues through which the message can be delivered. Dance is a particularly important tool to be utilized for our work.

On Self Hate and Ego
Self hate is the worst form of ego because it is destructive. Suppose one builds himself up to be a great man. Suppose this is his ego to be great, proud. Still, the ego is detrimental to his growth but at least he is building himself up. It is easier to remove a wall than rebuild one. Let us not be self destructive.

On Yajnya
Proper performance of Yajnya is an extremely good Karma. It gives nourishment to all living organisms. By practice of Agnihora the other four aspects of the Fivefold Path become easy to practice. In fact, one can say if one is practicing Agnihotra, one practices the Fivefold Path.

Elevation of intellect comes through proper performance of Yajnya.

On Total Love
If we don’t celebrate life with total love, then where are we?

Fivefold Path for Happy Living

1. Yajnya
HOMA Therapy is the science of purification of the atmosphere through the agency of FIRE. AGNIHOTRA HOMA (YAJNYA) is the basic HOMA. It is tuned to the biorhythm of sunrise/sunset and gives nutrients to the plant kingdom, removes diseases in a certain area and removes tension on the mind. This is the basic process in the Vedic sciences of medicine, agriculture, climate engineering and interplanetary communication.
2. Daan
Sharing of your assets in a spirit of humility. This corrects imbalance in financial matters and creates non-attachment to worldly possessions.
3. Tapa
Self-discipline of body and mind. This is conducive to a change in attitudes of mind and body. It results in a harmonious state of mind.
4. Karma
“You reap as you sow.” Always practicing good Karma (actions) diminishes the burden of negative Karma and one begins to invest in his own future. This means that what you do today will bring its fruits. Sowing seeds of love and kindness will bless my garden with plenty of love. Do Karma for self-purification.
5. Swadhyaya
Practice Swadhyaya (Self-study) for liberation. Who am I? Why am I here? My work on this planet is to learn to react with total LOVE with each opportunity given to me.

This is the Fivefold Path for happy living on the planet. By practicing the Fivefold Path you become better members of your society, group, religion, community, etc.
