Mother Earth Day in Peru with Agnihotra

Abel Hernandez and Aleta Macan
Piura, Peru
A beautiful event honoring Mother Earth was organized by Professor Javier Cruz and Leslie Girón, teacher in the Agricultural School in Tambogrande, both Agnihotris. This was done in conjunction with the Municipality of Tambogrande and its Department of Ecology.

On Tuesday, April 22nd, group of Agnihotris from Piura, Peru boarded a bus to travel to the event, which was 90 minutes from Piura. On the way to Tambogrande, in the San Lorenzo Valley, the bus driver was asked to stop at the river. The group offered Agnihotra ash to the river, which they had collected in their homes. This healing offering was given with love and dedication to Mother Earth, accompanied by chanting the Mantra OM SHREE.

Movement activities led by Homa Therapy Teacher Abel Hernandez.

At the event, Homa Therapy Teacher Abel Hernandez invited the assistants to participate in physical activities, including a dance for Mother Earth, called, “The 4 Elements.” Everyone captured the moves with ease and we all enjoyed it very much.

Then, a short educational video about the ecological situation of Mother Earth was presented and a brief introduction to Homa Therapy and its effects on ecology, agriculture and human health was given.

The students were well informed about what Mother Earth represents for each human being and what we all can do to keep Her in balance. Until now, in this area, rich in minerals, none of the large international mining companies have been able to establish themselves, due to the awareness of the population and their resistance to harming Mother Nature.

Some of the students from the National Agricultural Institute, along with Teacher Leslie, told a beautiful story in theatrical form about EREO, the Enchanted Hill of the San Lorenzo Valley.
Teacher Leslie explains about this play:
“EREO is an enchanted hill, and its spirit is the Protector of the entire San Lorenzo Valley, including Tambogrande. This spirit was born as a child to a maiden named Icuchim Capuc, who comes from the ancient Tallán culture. Ereo can also take the form of a puma.

“Ereo joined Mother Earth in an embrace when some miners were searching for gold with the intention to exploit the people. Through a farmer’s dream, a message was revealed to raise awareness among the residents, who then offered prayers and invocations as a sign of reverence, peace, and harmony. The Voice of Nature was heard and heeded by humanity and Nature heard the people’s voice.

“Our intention is to continue hearing within us the heartbeat of Love through the Earth and Her Divinity.

“It was important to highlight in the play the IMPORTANCE OF WOMEN AND THEIR HEALING ESSENCE, THEIR INTUITION, AND WISDOM.”

Agnihotri Javier Cruz performs original Agnihotra songs.

“This play shows that we are part of the symbiosis with nature and the ability we have to appreciate her wonderful gifts. In this harmony, we also experience a perfect state of connection between the spiritual and earthly beings.”

At the end of this blessed Mother Earth Day, Javier Cruz performed some original songs with the theme, “Agnihotra heals the Earth and also the soul…”

As the time for Agnihotra approached, everyone present rehearsed the evening Mantra, and thanks to the numerous Agnihotris from Piura, there was a celebration of Light and Love which enveloped every heart with profound peace and a deep sense of well-being.

Satsang congratulates everyone who made this event possible. The occasion helped raise awareness about the environment and Agnihotra, and involved the youth–all of which are of critical importance today.-Ed.

Two Special Remembrances in May

Ed.

(Please note: Agnihotra, Fivefold Path and Homa Therapy may be practiced by anyone, regardless of religion, beliefs, or creed. No one is asked to follow any particular individual. However, people sometimes ask about those Messengers who brought forth this knowledge in modern times.)

May 17th marks the birthdate of PARAMA SADGURU SHREE GAJANAN MAHARAJ (1918-1987)
of Akalkot, India, who revived the ancient knowledge of Agnihotra and the Fivefold Path for the present day.

Parama Sadguru Shree Gajanan Maharaj

From I Wish I Had Known, by Fran Rosen-Sawyer (now Parvati Rosen-Bizberg):

“Shree is KALKI AVATAR. The word AVATAR means the descent of Divine Power on earth to fulfill an allotted task from Almighty Father. KALKA means pollution; hence, KALKI AVATAR means Divine Messenger for the destruction of pollution. SADGURU means PERFECT MASTER. PARAMA SADGURU means highest among the PERFECT MASTERS.

“Shree’s lineage reflects a glorious spiritual heritage. His mother Sonamata was a great YOGINI. (YOGINI is the feminine term for YOGI.) Shree’s father Shivananda Swami was a renowned NADA BRAHMA YOGI….Shree’s grandfather Tatyaji Maharaj was a saint who possessed great intuitive knowledge of medicine and astrology….

“On Christmas day, December 25th, 1941 Shree’s allotted task was revealed by the Will of Almighty Father…Shree was further informed that the time for unfolding was yet to be…. In 1944 Shree vowed, ‘I will resuscitate the Vedas.’

“Parama Sadguru once said:
‘Whatever Almighty has willed to be done through our instrument shall be done. Our
whole life is totally dedicated to Him. He who revealed to us our allotted task shall grant us
the necessary strength to fulfill it.

‘It is not for us to advise people to follow any particular individual.

‘If it is the will of the Almighty to convey to the world any message through us, He will do so.
We are merely His slaves.

‘We are not votaries of any religious denomination. Whether it is the Bible or the Koran or        the doctrines of Hindus we will convey the message with equal yearning.

‘We have asked people not to call us GURU. Many have imposed Guruhood on us. Many           have experienced superhuman powers with us. Many have witnessed miracles. We are mere witness of, not the doers of these things.

‘We surrendered totally to the Almighty and He started utilizing our body as His instrument.
Each one has to tread his path of Self-realization.’ ”

Parama Sadguru Shree Gajanan Maharaj left the mortal coil on December 6, 1987. In reference to the lineage after He left the Body, Shree stated that after Us, comes Vedas; after Us, comes the Fire. There is no lineage. The Fire is of utmost importance.

Shree Vasant Paranjpe

May 13th marks the birthday of Shree Vasant V. Paranjpe, who left the body on December 30,
2008, at Maheshwar, India.

Words could never convey the impact of His life on countless people around the world to whom He carried the message of Agnihotra and Fivefold Path. In His mission, He circled the globe year after year, serving with unwavering devotion, utmost humility, astonishing energy and boundless love. He was instrumental in transforming the lives of people from all walks of life.

He so scrupulously avoided personal attention throughout His life of service, and never sought to collect followers. (For years, He declined to have His photo in this newsletter, which He Himself founded.) In total humility, He guided people to focus on the message of Yajnya, Daan, Tapa, Karma, Swadhyaya–not the messenger.

Following are some highlights from Shree Vasant’s life of service:

In 1970, Parama Sadguru Shree Gajanan Maharaj of Akalkot, India, who resuscitated Agnihotra and the Fivefold Path of Vedas in modern times, commanded Shree Vasant:
“Our words which lead to BLISS, convey them to all the people.”

Thus began Shree Vasant’s thirty-eight years of travel and teaching, of Grace and total surrender to the Divine.

In 1972 He began teaching in the U.S. In 1973 He became the founder president of Fivefold Path, Inc., a nonprofit organization established in Madison, Virginia. In that same year, Shree Gajanan Maharaj commanded Shree Vasant to start this Satsang newsletter.

On September 22, 1973, Shree Vasant inaugurated the Parama Dham Fire Temple in Madison,
Virginia, the first Fire Temple in the world established under Shree Gajanan Maharaj’s dispensation of ancient science of atmospheric purification for the New Age.

In 1974 Shree Vasant carried the message to Europe. Over the years, His mission also took Him to South America, Australia, Africa and Asia. He was instrumental in bringing Agnihotra and Fivefold Path to thousands of people all over the planet.

In today’s world He pioneered the use of Homa Therapy in agriculture, psychotherapy, alternative medicine, self-development and healing the environment. Under His guidance, Homa farms and centers such as Ecovillage Bhrugu Aranya in Poland, Om Shree Dham farm in Australia, Ancient Oaks farm in U.S.A. and Tapovan in India, came forth.

He is the author of Grace Alone, Light Towards Divine Path, Ten Commandments of Parama Sadguru and Homa Therapy, Our Last Chance. His books have been translated into many languages.

Over forty years ago, many of His talks and writings warned of the environmental degradation and deterioration that have come to pass in virtually all parts of the globe today, in the forms of atmospheric pollution, nuclear radiation hazards, water pollution, soil fatigue, noise pollution and more. But along with these warnings, He offered a solution that people all over the world could use to heal themselves and their environment–Agnihotra and Fivefold Path.

Glimpses of Shree Vasant’s life can be found in Messenger of the Sacred Fire, the Extraordinary Life and Works of Shree Vasant Paranjpe by Parvati Rosen-Bizberg. In it, a number of people from various countries have shared their experiences with Shree Vasant and the spread of Agnihotra around the planet. But perhaps the greater story of His life is just beginning to unfold, as people the world over continue His mission.

In February, 2009, another important milestone was achieved: Homa Therapy Teacher Certification training. The certification program is a means of accurately preserving and conveying the Vedic knowledge given by Parama Sadguru Shree Gajanan Maharaj and taught worldwide by Shree Vasant Paranjpe. Through the program, Homa Therapy teachers can be more thoroughly and consistently trained, so that a uniform message of the teachings of Homa Therapy goes out to the world. This also promotes unity among Homa Therapy teachers.

Homa Therapy Teacher Certification courses have been given at Tapovan farm in India, Ecovillage Bhrugu Aranya in Poland, and the Resonance Point, Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A.

Agnihotra and Homa Therapy as taught by Certified Homa Therapy teachers are very specific practices. Many things on internet are called Agnihotra or Homa Therapy, but are not the same as given by Maharaj Shree and taught by Shree Vasant.  The wonderful results people have gotten and the scientific research on Agnihotra were obtained by people using the exact methods taught by Certified Homa Therapy teachers.

Homa Therapy logo

To help people distinguish between the practices taught by Certified Homa Therapy teachers and other things, the legal trademark of a Homa Therapy logo was created in 2010, to be used solely by our international network of Homa Therapy centers and teachers.

Another unfoldment of Shree Vasant’s work was a series of seven Maha Somayags, beginning in 2007 and reaching successful completion in February, 2017. These very powerful, special Yajnyas, held at the Homa Therapy Goshala on the banks of the River Narmada in Maheshwar, Madya Pradesh, India, unleashed tremendous healing energy for our planet.

Homa Therapy Goshala of Fivefold Path Mission, Maheshwar, India again served as the site of special purpose Vedic Yajnyas.  Sautramani Yag was peacefully conducted from 26-28th December 2018.  Persons from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal were present for this Yajnya. Nakshatra Yajnya was successfully performed from January 17th to 21st, 2019, attended by people from India, Austria, Germany, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Japan, Australia, and North and South America.

An important goal was reached on March 25, 2023 at Tapovan Homa farm, where they
celebrated the completion of 22 years of continuous, round-the-clock Om Tryambakam Homa. Given the small number of people who carried out this work, this achievement is nothing short of miraculous. Our congratulations and thanks to all who helped achieve this historic milestone.

Around the world, Homa Therapy teachers strive to make the teachings of Agnihotra, Fivefold Path and Homa Therapy available to all.  This task took a great leap forward on May 13th, 2020. In honor of the 99th birth anniversary of Shree Vasant,  Fivefold Path Mission announced that it has made Shree Vasant’s books available on Amazon. The books are available in Kindle and paperback formats.

Beginning in 2020, as COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns prevented some of the usual events at which Agnihotra and Homa Therapy are taught, Homa Therapy teachers began  adapting and using new methods. Several Homa Therapy centers began conducting Zoom and Facebook online Agnihotra classes and meetings. Some of those meetings continue in the U.S. and South America.

In honor of Shree Vasant’s 100th birth anniversary, an international online event was held on May 13, 2021. Over 375 people participated, from India, South America, Poland, Australia, US, Austria, Spain, Holland, Mexico, Switzerland, Slovenia, Czech Republic and Germany.

In December, 2023, a remarkable study on Agnihotra and Photosynthesis was completed. The published report concluded that Agnihotra has a significant positive impact on photosynthesis and plant growth. This statement has tremendous importance, considering the critical role of photosynthesis in plant life all over the world.

In Maheshwar, India, a bold, new project is being developed, called “SAMATVA”. It was conceived as a novel approach to bring the Words and Message of SHREE and Fivefold Path to a broader, more public audience. The land, a short distance from the Homa Therapy Goshala, was purchased on 17th May 2023 so a new center can be established. (More information on Samatva was featured in the June 2024 issue of Satsang.)

From May 12-18, 2024 another continuous Global Om Tryambakam Homa program was successfully completed, with Agnihotris from many countries participating. The event was organized by Homa Therapy teachers Abel Hernandez and Aleta Macan.

Last fall, a short and comprehensive video on Agnihotra and Homa Therapy practice around the world was released. The film shows the vital importance of worldwide practice of Agnihotra and reasons for its performance.

The Agnihotra Buddy Timings app has gained popularity around the world. This free app, available for both Android and iPhone can be a great support to one’s Agnihotra practice, giving correct timings, reminders, sound files of the Agnihotra mantras and more. Tutorials on using the app can be found here.

Ecovillage Bhrugu Aranya in Poland, a longstanding Homa farm and intentional community, continues to thrive and develop. Fundacja Terapia Homa is searching for grants to help complete construction of the Centre of Light. As the planet is in turmoil, the need to make the Centre available to the public as a haven of peace and support has become more urgent.

Step by step, Agnihotra moves toward a wider audience. More scientific research on Agnihotra has been, and is being, conducted.  Internet and social media allow us to disseminate information on Agnihotra more quickly than ever before. It is impossible to truly sum up the spread of Agnihotra, Fivefold Path and Homa Therapy today. We may read about events and milestones on the aforementioned websites, but there is no way to chronicle the work that goes on quietly, behind the scenes, all over the world, or the great changes that take place within the hearts and minds of Agnihotris and Fivefold Path practitioners around the globe.

A precious heritage has been entrusted to all of us who have been taught Agnihotra, the Fivefold Path and Homa Therapy. We can honor this priceless gift by striving to manifest these teachings more fully in our lives, and by sharing this knowledge with others. Believe what you experience.

On Youth

The following message was received by Parvati Rosen-Bizberg during group meditations at Ecovillage Bhrugu Aranya in Poland

Shree Vasant
February 10, 2025
Focus on the Youth. Carry Our teachings now to young people who are in desperate need for comfort and wisdom. Timeless wisdom. Speak simply. It is not to fulfil their intellectual curiosity. What We have in our hands is a lifesaver. Don’t hold back.

Using the true teachings, as you have experienced them, is the best place to begin. Begin by listening. Listen to them but also teach them to listen to their own higher selves. Emphasize finding a creative endeavor for relief of tensions and for expressing whatever it is they are experiencing in their lives.

Listen. Listen. Listen.

Encourage musical self-expression, art, dance, writing.
Encourage them to seek silence, solace in Nature.
Help them learn to listen to their inner wisdom.

They do not require you to have all the answers, but simply to hear them tell their story, share their impressions, joys, ideas, fears, and dreams.

How sacred it is to be allowed into their hearts and minds.

No judgment. Acceptance and compassion will lead them to learn to accept themselves. And impart GRATITUDE. Suggest writing a gratitude list daily.

And encourage Laughter, the lightness of being able to feel, see and hear that which awakens or reawakens JOY.

Be always kind.

You carry Light. Allow that Light to guide them without too many words.

Remember, when you listen you will hear what you also may need to comfort and cleanse yourself.
All love and blessings.
OM TAT SAT.

Homa Therapy Experiences

Stuart Watkins
Perth, Western Australia

For nearly 10 years I’ve lived with a persistent eye condition—Thygeson’s superficial punctate keratitis: chronic inflammation and lesions in the eyes, light sensitivity, blurred vision, and waves of fatigue through the body. It has been a strange karmic teacher. I’ve explored many avenues—Western medicine, alternative treatments, countless protocols, yoga, and shamanism. Some have soothed. None have fully healed. But something shifted when I began practicing Agnihotra regularly, morning and evening—most days.

I deeply cherish every time it aligns for me to sit with the fire. I love it. But I’ve got two young daughters and a dog who needs walking. Life moves. Sometimes the timing doesn’t land, or I’m pulled in five directions at once. And still, the practice keeps calling me back. Not as a “should”—but as a joy. A recalibration. A sacred sanctuary that feels, at times, like sitting in the Himalayas. It really does feel as if it not only supports me, but also my family and beyond.

At first, the shift was energetic—a subtle feeling of purification, a deeper clarity and radiance. And then, slowly, something else: my eyes began to feel less reactive. Less inflamed. More moments of coolness and ease. Not gone. Not healed. But softened. Supported.

And then came the Agnihotra ash. What began with a hint of skepticism deepened into reverence. I began adding a pinch of ash to my drinking water. Later, under guidance and with great care, I prepared a highly diluted ash-based eye wash. [Instructions for preparing Agnihotra ash eye drops can be found in Homa Therapy: The Ancient Science of Healing, by Monika Koch.-Ed.] Filtered. Gentle. It feels like liquid light on my eyes, and through my nervous system.

What I’ve come to feel—both intuitively and biologically—is that this practice isn’t just spiritual. It’s conductive.

The copper pyramid doesn’t just contain the fire—it channels and shapes it. Copper is an extraordinary conductor: of heat, of charge, of electromagnetic energy. When dung, ghee, and rice are offered into the fire, and then with precise timing, with attention and mantra, they don’t just combust—they cohere. The geometry of the pyramid, the light and heat of the fire at solar transition points, and the vibrational resonance of mantra come together to generate a living, electromagnetic field. It’s not just a metaphor. It’s multi-dimensional, and deeply felt. And the Agnihotra ash? It’s the residue of that coherence— imbued with the frequency of cosmic alignment.

Our eyes are not passive. They are quantum sensors—highly attuned to light, magnetism, and coherence. Sitting with the fire at dawn and dusk is like syncing to the cosmic clock. Optimising the circadian rhythm. Calming the nervous system. Informing the body how to heal. And something in the ash speaks. I know it may sound strange to some, but this is what I’ve felt. I bow to the fire, and to what remains. The way I see—and the way I meet the world—deepens.

This path with my eyes is still unfolding. There are still flare-ups, uncomfortable days. But I feel the fire holding me. Restructuring me. Meeting me, not to fix, but to reveal.

My beloved teacher Ram Dass often spoke of polishing the mirror. I’ve come to feel that Agni, through Agnihotra Homa and the vibrational intelligence of the ash, helps polish the lenses of perception. Not just outward vision—but inward clarity. This is not a testimony of healing. It’s a gesture of gratitude. A note of trust. We each have karma to burn—until we don’t. Agnihotra is a profound technology for that burning. For our own freedom, yes—but also for the collective. And in those moments when I sit with the fire, I see a little clearer. Something like truth.

He has studied extensively with the late Ram Dass in Maui and with Dr. Yogrishi Vishvketu in Northern India. I do my Agnihotra practice right next to my papaya tree. When I first moved in, I  thought the tree was dying and I would have to remove it. I decided to leave it and just forgot about  it.

In the last month it has borne so much fruit that it came crashing down last night. There are still limbs left with plenty of fruit and it’s looking super healthy.

From Shree Vasant’s Teachings

The Unstruck Music (ANAHAT)
It was the sound of the abstract which Prophet Muhammad heard in the cave of Gare Hira when He became lost in His Divine ideal. The Quran refers to this sound in the words, “BE! AND ALL BECAME.” Moses heard this very sound on Mount Sinai when in communion with God.

The same Word was audible to the Christ when absorbed in His Heavenly Father in the wilderness.

The flute of Krishna is symbolic of the same sound allegorically explained.

This sound is the source of all revelation to the Masters to whom it is revealed from within. It is therefore that They know and teach the one and same TRUTH.

“The knower of the mystery of sound knows the mystery of the whole universe. Whosoever has followed the strains of this sound has forgotten all earthly distinctions and differences.” Inayat Khan.

“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.” (John 1:1-3)

NADA BRAHMA in Sanskrit means Sound, the Creator.

Attunement to this inner music wipes off all loads of Karma and leads one to the state of, “Not my will, but Thy WILL be done.”

This is RE-LIGARE (binding again to the source) from which the word “religion” comes.

This is YOGA. (English word “yoke” means, “binding the animal to the cart.”)

ANAHAT NADA (unstruck music) is the method.

The NEW AGE IS USHERED and this method will be used to lift people up to the HOME OF THE FATHER.

To facilitate this experience in the world of turmoil HEALING FIRE of AGNIHOTRA is the easiest way.

If you keep some rooms of silence all around the world, where only AGNIHOTRA and certain other fires and Mantras are done, tuned to the biorhythms as stated in the science of HOMA THERAPY, you create an atmosphere where automatically the unstruck music manifests within oneself. Believe what you experience.

THE UNFOLDMENT OF THE SCIENCE OF THE SPIRIT BRINGS ALL PEOPLE TOGETHER ABOVE AND BEYOND THEIR RESTRICTED IDEAS OF RELIGIONS, SECTS, AND GROUPS. THEN THEY KNOW THAT ALL PROPHETS BY WHOSE NAME THEY SWEAR CAME FROM THE SAME ALMIGHTY FATHER TO DO HIS WILL.

Fivefold Path for Happy Living

1. Yajnya
HOMA Therapy is the science of purification of the atmosphere through the agency of FIRE. AGNIHOTRA HOMA (YAJNYA) is the basic HOMA. It is tuned to the biorhythm of sunrise/sunset and gives nutrients to the plant kingdom, removes diseases in a certain area and removes tension on the mind. This is the basic process in the Vedic sciences of medicine, agriculture, climate engineering and interplanetary communication.
2. Daan
Sharing of your assets in a spirit of humility. This corrects imbalance in financial matters and creates non-attachment to worldly possessions.
3. Tapa
Self-discipline of body and mind. This is conducive to a change in attitudes of mind and body. It results in a harmonious state of mind.
4. Karma
“You reap as you sow.” Always practicing good Karma (actions) diminishes the burden of negative Karma and one begins to invest in his own future. This means that what you do today will bring its fruits. Sowing seeds of love and kindness will bless my garden with plenty of love. Do Karma for self-purification.
5. Swadhyaya
Practice Swadhyaya (Self-study) for liberation. Who am I? Why am I here? My work on this planet is to learn to react with total LOVE with each opportunity given to me.

This is the Fivefold Path for happy living on the planet. By practicing the Fivefold Path you become better members of your society, group, religion, community, etc.
