The Fire with Zen: Sharing Agnihotra Through Community and Gathering
Kristopher Dumas
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina;, USA
Over the past year, The Fire with Zen has been honored to share Agnihotra across a variety of community spaces, gatherings, and festivals throughout the Southeast.
What began as a personal practice has gradually expanded into a living offering, meeting people in both traditional and non-traditional environments. From intimate local circles to larger public events, the fire has continued to create a space where individuals can pause, reconnect, and experience a deeper sense of presence.
We have had the opportunity to offer Agnihotra at gatherings such as the USDGC, Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival, and The Big What Festival, where participants from many different walks of life have encountered the practice, often for the first time. In these settings, the fire naturally becomes a point of stillness amid activity, inviting reflection and inner quiet.
Closer to home in Myrtle Beach, we have continued to cultivate community through offerings at the Conscious Soul Festival, as well as collaborations like Vibe Time, where music, creativity, and sacred practice intersect in a unique and accessible way.
In addition, we recently began hosting a First Sunday Community Meditation and Agnihotra, creating a consistent monthly space dedicated to silence, connection, and shared intention. These gatherings have been a reminder that even in small groups, the impact of Agnihotra can be deeply felt.
Across all of these environments, the essence remains unchanged. Agnihotra serves as a bridge, harmonizing individuals with natural rhythms, with the environment, and with one another. Whether experienced in a quiet circle or a vibrant festival setting, the fire continues to meet people exactly where they are.
It has been both humbling and inspiring to witness how this ancient practice continues to resonate in modern spaces, touching lives in subtle yet meaningful ways.
With gratitude,
Kris Dumas

Homa Farming Success in Peru
Eng. Franklin Vences
Ceneguillo, Sullana,
Piura, Peru, S. America
Mr. Vences is the owner of a 13-hectare farm applying Homa Therapy.
All the diseases and pests we previously had in our lemon crops caused us many problems. They were:
-Citrus gummosis (fungus)
-Scale insects and aphids (whiteflies and sooty mold)
-Citrus tristeza virus
-Aphids
-Citrus leafminers
These have been eliminated without the use of agrochemicals.
The only thing we still have are some plants affected by the citrus rust mite.
My neighbor, Segundo Pérez Llacsahuanga, left 50% of his lemon crop treated with agrochemicals and the other 50% using only Homa Therapy.
We have observed that there are currently more fruits in the section treated only with Homa Therapy.
At first, the section treated with agrochemicals seemed to flower better, but then it was attacked by a pest (Botrytis) and now there are fewer fruits.
The Homa Therapy sector flowered more slowly at first but then picked up speed and it is now completely healthy, vigorous, and bearing more fruit. There is a negligible percentage of Botrytis in this area.
It should be noted that we haven’t been performing the daily 4-hour Tryambakam Homa, nor the 24-hours for the full moons and new moons. We’ve only been performing Agnihotra at sunrise and sunset, along with about two to three hours of Tryambakam Homa daily. [Normally, for Homa Farming a minimum of 4 hours of Om Tryambakam Homa are done daily, and 24-hours or as many hours as possible on no moon and full moon days.-Ed.]
As for the mangoes, they were sweeter and had a better flavor. The native mango trees produced an off-season bloom, yielding an extra crop of fruit. I have never seen this before.
They ripened at a time when mangoes are not usually available,
so the market price is better.
As for the mandarins, they were observed to be sweeter than in previous years.
Regarding the papaya we planted before implementing Homa Therapy, the crop suffered from a general viral infection, but it has managed to produce a harvest and is now sustaining itself with Homa Therapy. Of course, it has not been completely cured of the disease, but it has managed to produce a harvest, which is currently in the process of ripening.
Normally, a plantation with a viral infection dies immediately. There are no chemicals that can counteract this effect.
This same seed was also planted at the Higher Technological Institute when the Homa Therapy project was implemented. In this plantation, there are no visible signs of viral disease or any other disease.
My neighbor, Segundo Pérez, is practicing Homa Therapy with me, and he is convinced of its benefits for three reasons:
1) The off-season blooming of all the native mango trees on my plot.
2) Some nearby lemon trees, near to where Agnihotra is performed, were completely healed in a short time.
3) He had some plantations with gummosis that have been revitalized, and there has been an overall improvement in the lemon plantation.
Agnihotra Experiences
Nic Roberts
Missouri, USA
Hello, everyone. My name is Nic Roberts and I’ve been practicing the simple twice daily Vedic fire sacrifice of Agnihotra on and off for about a decade now. I can’t recommend this ceremony strongly enough. It will improve every aspect of your life. The effects are dramatic and miraculous.
I’ve been in Vedic groups for decades (Self Realization Fellowship, Hare Krsnas). Hindus and Westerners in Vedic groups are familiar with fire sacrifices. They are among India’s most basic spiritual techniques.
I had an on-and-off problem with binge drinking. I was a severely abused child and was using alcohol to medicate my mood swings. I read that Agnihotra could help people overcome even severe addictions rapidly. The third time I did Agnihotra I lost all attraction to alcohol and the cravings never came back. Before that, I had lost all hope of ever overcoming this longstanding addiction.
I get the most beautiful and amazing song birds in my yard due to Agnihotra practice. Once a hummingbird approached me and the fire pyramid and observed us from about a foot away. Birds are leery of humans and fire, so that was amazing.
The Agnihotra ash (vibhuti) is close to a panacea, especially if you make it yourself.
Agnihotra ash is the world’s best fertilizer. Once a Tulsi (Holy Basil) plant grew 3 inches in one day with a single application.
I can’t recommend this profoundly beneficial ceremony highly enough. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Don’t take my word for it. Try it and see. God bless you all.

I came to know Homa Therapy through Dr. Jaime Montufar approximately 16 years ago. In those days,
I was suffering from severe gastritis— serious and terrible—with regurgitation problems and a lot of pain. When I saw blood in my stool, that’s when I became alarmed and I went to see the doctor. But after a while, I had to travel to another country for work, and my condition worsened there.
I have been reluctant my whole life to seek Western medicine, so coming back, I returned to Dr. Montufar and bought an Agnihotra pyramid on credit. I began practicing Agnihotra every day. I did the Om Tryambakam Homa before the morning Agnihotra,
I did the sunset Agnihotra, and also the 5 a.m. Mantras that Dr. Montufar taught me.
I followed these practices for several years—three or four years—and I took Agnihotra ash every day, several times.
The whole issue with the ulcer and gastritis stopped, without the need for surgery or any other treatment.
It’s worth mentioning that my family thought I was crazy back then. They didn’t want me to perform Agnihotra. They would leave, closing the doors and windows. They couldn’t stand the smoke, the Mantras, or anything else.
Now, these days, they ask me to do it. Literally, honestly, they ask me to do it. If I don’t do Agnihotra, they’re asking me to do it. My children tell me, “Dad, Dad, there’s a lot of negative energy, do the Fire, do the Fire.” And it has to be done. And I do it; I enjoy doing it.
From Shree Vasant’s Teachings
On Fire Temples
In a Fire Temple nothing is worshiped. It is a healing room when Agnihotra copper pyramid fire tuned to the biorhythm of sunrise/sunset is practiced daily along with some Mantras.
Silence is kept all the time except for the above. The place becomes extremely healing according to ancient science of bioenergy given through Vedas. Agnihotra is the basic process in the science of medicine, agriculture, climate engineering and interplanetary communication given through the Vedas. In a Fire Temple one copper pyramid is placed as an altar for resonance. It is this resonance which manipulates the atmosphere and makes it healing.
On Tapa and Service
If you think others should practice TAPA you practice TAPA. If you want others to do good unto you, do good unto others. Learn from your own experiences. What makes me happy? What brings me greatest joy? You will find many times it is when we are truly serving others that a great feeling of fulfillment comes over us.
Never, never become satisfied that you are doing for others and you are therefore a great person. If indeed you are great you need not know about it. Let others say you are good but always note aloud, “I am not the doer. If I bring you any peace or calm in your life it is not any will but the Father’s Will and I am not to be honored. It is HIS honor. Not my own.”
Concentrate on what is going right in your life, not what you are missing, not what you need or what you wish you had. Focus should always be on SERVICE, not just when you wake every morning, thought certainly that charts the course of every day. When you are in the supermarket, when you are in the dentist’s chair, when you are talking to friends, helping your child to do homework always keep that focus, “How can I help? How can I serve?” FOCUS SHOULD ALWAYS BE ON SERVICE.
On Tapa and Swadhyaya
First look at yourself. Be honest with yourself. Then comes TAPA that will release you from the hold of sense desires. But first SWADHYAYA (self-study.)
First self-study. Examine yourself. Then comes the prescription. First self-examination. then solution. You are trying to do the solution without fully understanding the problem.
Fivefold Path for Happy Living
1. Yajnya
HOMA Therapy is the science of purification of the atmosphere through the agency of FIRE. AGNIHOTRA HOMA (YAJNYA) is the basic HOMA. It is tuned to the biorhythm of sunrise/sunset and gives nutrients to the plant kingdom, removes diseases in a certain area and removes tension on the mind. This is the basic process in the Vedic sciences of medicine, agriculture, climate engineering and interplanetary communication.
2. Daan
Sharing of your assets in a spirit of humility. This corrects imbalance in financial matters and creates non-attachment to worldly possessions.
3. Tapa
Self-discipline of body and mind. This is conducive to a change in attitudes of mind and body. It results in a harmonious state of mind.
4. Karma
“You reap as you sow.” Always practicing good Karma (actions) diminishes the burden of negative Karma and one begins to invest in his own future. This means that what you do today will bring its fruits. Sowing seeds of love and kindness will bless my garden with plenty of love. Do Karma for self-purification.
5. Swadhyaya
Practice Swadhyaya (Self-study) for liberation. Who am I? Why am I here? My work on this planet is to learn to react with total LOVE with each opportunity given to me.
This is the Fivefold Path for happy living on the planet. By practicing the Fivefold Path you become better members of your society, group, religion, community, etc.
