Happy Anniversary, Parama Dham!

Ed.
September 22, 2022 marked the 49th anniversary of the Parama Dham Fire Temple in Madison, Virginia. Inaugurated by Shree Vasant in 1973, Parama Dham was the first Fire Temple in the world established under Parama Sadguru Shree Gajanan Maharaj’s dispensation of resuscitation of the ancient science of atmospheric purification for the New Age. The name Parama Dham, which means House of Almighty Father, was chosen by Maharaj Shree.

In a Fire Temple, there is no priest and nothing is worshipped. Agnihotra atmospheric purification technique is performed there twice daily at sunrise and sunset. A fixed set of mantras is chanted after Agnihotra. With the exception of the mantras, silence is observed in the Fire Temple at all times. The atmosphere becomes supercharged with healing energies.

In a separate room from the main temple room, 4 hours of Om Tryambakam Homa are performed daily. On no moon and full moon days, more hours of Om Tryambakam Homa are done there.

Regarding Fire Temples, Shree Vasant once stated, “Time is coming in a few years when extremely strict disciplines will have to be maintained to keep up the purity of these places and the harmony cycles around them. These places will become special refuge for multitudes. It is preferable that they be situated in a large garden area where food can be grown by the YAJNYA method. We need some places in cities also.”

Since COVID-19 stricter disciplines are observed at Parama Dham, and advance notice is required for visits. If you would like to visit Parama Dham, please email us at info@agnihotra.org to make arrangements.

Heartfelt thanks to all the people over the years, from places near and far, who have given their time, energy and financial support to keep Parama Dham going.

Agnihotra is for Everyone

Ed.

Agnihotra is practiced by thousands of people around the world, of different religions, different spiritual practices, different spiritual teachers and  gurus, and those with no particular religious or spiritual affiliation.

Shree Vasant Paranjpe wrote, “Practice the Fivefold Path and you become a better member of your family or community. You will become a more righteous Christian, Jew, Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu, Zoroastrian, Sikh, Jain, whatever be your formal religious label. You may be an atheist or an agnostic; you will benefit by practicing the Fivefold Path.” The following photos show a few examples of people of different faiths who practice Agnihotra.

The Bible and Agnihotra

Ed.

Agnihotra may be practiced by anyone, regardless of their religious or spiritual beliefs. However, some people have asked whether practicing Agnihotra is in keeping with the teachings of the Bible.

Daniel 8:26
Many people who do Agnihotra believe that this verse refers to Agnihotra:

“This vision about the evening and morning sacrifices which has been
explained to you will come true. But keep it secret now, because it will be a long time
before it does come true.”–Daniel 8:26, The Good News Bible–The Bible in Today’s English Version, American Bible Society, 1976.

The purpose of this translation was: “The Bible in Today’s English Version is a newer translation which seeks to state clearly and accurately the meaning of the original texts in words and forms that are widely accepted by people who use English as a means of communication.”

(The King James Version doesn’t include the key word “sacrifices”: “The vision of the evenings and the mornings which has been told is true; but seal up the vision for it pertains to many days hence.”–Matthew 7:16-20 King James Version)

Matthew 7:16-20
“Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

“A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

“Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”–Matthew 7:16-20 King James Version

The fruits of Agnihotra, as experienced by thousands of people around the world,
are improved health, reduced stress (which can improve family life and decrease domestic violence), better farm and garden crops, greater purity of water resources, and rejuvenation of plant life/healing the environment. Doing Agnihotra can be a form of stewardship of the planet. Agnihotra has also been found to be a helpful tool in drug and alcohol de-addiction.

Romans 12:2
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2

Many have attested to Agnihotra’s stress-relieving effects, which give one a renewal of
the mind—that it reduces reduces anger and gives one greater clarity of thought, which help one to make good decisions and be a better person.

Experiences with Homa Therapy

Claudia Lopez Varillas
Piura, Peru, South America

I came to Homa Therapy 10 months ago on the recommendation of my yoga instructor, at a time when I needed it most. I was going through hard times in my health with a large uterine fibroid of more than 15 centimeters, constant pelvic pain and generalized pain in my whole body. In addition, we had constant family problems due to witchcraft. There was a “darkness” and there were bad smells in the living room, in the bedrooms and outside our house. The smell was like a dead animal. I felt like I was drowning. This tormented me. I looked around my house and I didn’t see anything that was burning or rotting. I also was angry. I had no patience. And I felt dissatisfied and bored with my life. I also realized that nothing was right with my children. They did not feel peace. They could not concentrate. They felt equally overwhelmed, with little energy, quiet and sometimes sad. Everyone in the family lost weight and there was no harmony between us. I felt like I was going crazy.

When I came to Homa Therapy, I paid a lot of attention to what Homa Therapy Teachers Abel Hernandez and his wife Aleta taught us. I learned the Mantras with my daughter Flavia, who was the one who supported me in everything. We attended Homa Therapy in all the places where Abel and Aleta were. And we also practiced it at home.

When I started doing the fires at home, the third time I did it, something surprising happened. My house always felt dark. The lights seemed not to shine; they had a very low light. But on the third day, when doing sunset Agnihotra, we turned off all the lights and after finishing the Homa Fire, I turned on the lights and my house was illuminated, as if it were daylight. I went into my room and I no longer smelled the fetid smell and the same in my son’s room and in the living room. In each room the smells were now different and pleasant and this has remained so until today. Regarding my fibroid, it has not yet completely disappeared, but from 15 centimeters in size it has reduced to about 4 centimeters.

Now I feel calm, I feel happy and I have energy. My children study and are calm and well. I am now more active. My husband is very well too, and there is a beautiful harmony between all of us, and all thanks to the healing fires of Homa Therapy.

Those were some of my personal experiences.

I am a physical rehabilitation therapist. Now I am sowing seeds of well-being with my patients by sharing Agnihotra and my patients have also had surprising results; I want to share some of them:

– Mr. Sulpicio, 48 years old, was diagnosed with a ruptured eardrum. The patient could not hear and had so much pain that he could not sleep. The doctor had suggested an operation on his ear if he did not improve. He already had 15 days with no improvement; rather, he was getting worse.

I gave him Agnihotra ash to take and apply as an ointment (ghee mixed with Agnihotra ash) outside the ear. In 4 days, he was free of pain, he slept well and was able to hear. He also told me that he had been diagnosed with gastritis and later with parasites; the Agnihotra ash acted as a laxative and now his stomach feels fresh. Not even the pills had had that effect on him, THANKS TO HOMA THERAPY.

– Carmen Tavara, 65 years old. I have known this lady since I was a child and I always saw her with a wound on her leg. She was overweight, had varicose veins and lately she was also suffering from diabetes. I recommended the Agnihotra cream (Agnihotra ash mixed with ghee) and within two weeks her wound had healed, THANKS TO HOMA THERAPY.

– Isabel Ramos, 38 years old, told me that she had generalized pain in her body and especially a lot of lower back pain, headache, dizziness and fatigue. I recommended Agnihotra ash to her and she took it for one week and she has been able to say goodbye to her pain and her tiredness, THANKS TO HOMA THERAPY.

– José López, 63, suffered from muscle pain and fatigue. I recommended that he take the Agnihotra ash and one week later he called me to tell me that his pains have disappeared, he does not feel tired or exhausted and he continues with his hard work on his farm, THANKS TO HOMA THERAPY.

From Shree Vasant’s Teachings

Pollution-How Ancient Medicine Views It
The term pollution has a very wide connotation according to the ancient science of bioenergy given through the Vedas. There are two words used for atmosphere, “WATAWARAN” and “WAYUMANDALA.” AWARNA means covering. MANDALA implies a circle. This shows the all-embracing effect. The effect of all “coverings” is taken into consideration.

Another aspect of pollution refers to habit patterns of man and their effect on the atmosphere. Our behavior, our thinking and our speech, they all affect the atmosphere. They all reflect energy manifestations which disturb the harmonious functioning of body and mind. This is the meaning when we use the words, “let us help reset the energy cycle of the planet.” All the three above pollute the atmosphere. This pollution needs to be eliminated for happy life on the planet. The atmosphere needs to be nourished. This is done by the operation of the energy field in post YAJNYA atmosphere. AGNIHOTRA is the smallest form of YAJNYA which anyone can practice with a little discipline. It is doubly blessed. It blesseth him that does it and also the atmosphere.

The idea of thought pollution did not come within the universe of discourse of a scientist just a few years ago. In the nuclear age it is slowly gaining recognition in the portals of science. This is how science is veering towards Vedic knowledge. This is how science and the “eternal principles of religion” approach each other and then merge.

In Vedas the biosphere is considered from the aspect of PUSHTI (nourishment) and TUSHTI (happy state of mind). The process of Agnihotra is based on the gearing system of nature corresponding to sunrise and sunset. Sunrise/sunset cycle is described in physics as a circadian rhythm, i.e. rhythm corresponding to a day. In Vedas these timings are called “junctions” which affect the human mind. The science of bacteriology is given in ATHARVAVEDA of which AYURVEDA i.e. science of life (commonly translated as science of medicine) forms a part. The ancientmost tradition of this body of knowledge refers to the effect of Agnihotra on pathogenic bacteria.

Agnihotra induces properties in the atmosphere which are conducive to healthy life. By this practice of Agnihotra the quality of “nourishment” and “happiness” is induced in the atmosphere. To be full of LOVE and to react with LOVE to all and every situation in life is the aim of this ancient technology of YAJNYA of which AGNIHOTRA is the smallest aspect.

All types of malfunctions tend to be neutralized by practice of AGNIHOTRA.

How is it described in the Vedas?

Atmosphere is polluted in a specific way  >  Specific effect. Water gets polluted.

Combined effect of atmospheric and water pollution  >  The effect becomes visible in the form                                                                                                                    of bodily and mental diseases.

To get rid of these, practice AGNIHOTRA.

You give an herbal medicine to someone and it helps the individual. You put it into fire prepared in a prescribed way; then it benefits the patient and also helps eliminate the epidemic.

Fragrance everywhere and also nourishment to the atmosphere. This is the process of Agnihotra.

Fragrance does not mean only deodorization. Rose garden or cosmetics do not carry the full meaning of fragrance. “Stinking” is not the only aspect of polluted atmosphere. It may be one. Many pathogenic bacteria flourish but they do not stink.

Agnihotra leads to purification of “Three Spheres.”

Due to socio-economic upheavals of nuclear age, psychology which appeared in old days akin to philosophy has now catapulted into the Science of Medicine. Agniotra, it can now be realized, is closely connected with AYURVEDA, the science of medicine given through Vedas.

The Vedic science of medicine is nearly lost now. However, it is being revived by Divine Will. This science escribes pollution in a chapter which is aptly called, “overall destruction of a community.”

On Expectations and Forgiveness
Let us do the work as best we can at the moment. Let what comes of it come. We plant the seed. The garden may or may not grow as we like it.

So many variables are there. In growing a garden we cannot predict when it will rain again. We only plant the seed. We can water the seed but if it does not grow despite our efforts the fault is not ours. When we teach, “Do not find fault with others,” we should say first, “Do not find fault with your own self.” Forgiveness is for us as well as for others.

Fivefold Path for Happy Living

1. Yajnya
HOMA Therapy is the science of purification of the atmosphere through the agency of FIRE. AGNIHOTRA HOMA (YAJNYA) is the basic HOMA. It is tuned to the biorhythm of sunrise/sunset and gives nutrients to the plant kingdom, removes diseases in a certain area and removes tension on the mind. This is the basic process in the Vedic sciences of medicine, agriculture, climate engineering and interplanetary communication.
2. Daan
Sharing of your assets in a spirit of humility. This corrects imbalance in financial matters and creates non-attachment to worldly possessions.
3. Tapa
Self-discipline of body and mind. This is conducive to a change in attitudes of mind and body. It results in a harmonious state of mind.
4. Karma
“You reap as you sow.” Always practicing good Karma (actions) diminishes the burden of negative Karma and one begins to invest in his own future. This means that what you do today will bring its fruits. Sowing seeds of love and kindness will bless my garden with plenty of love. Do Karma for self-purification.
5. Swadhyaya
Practice Swadhyaya (Self-study) for liberation. Who am I? Why am I here? My work on this planet is to learn to react with total LOVE with each opportunity given to me.

This is the Fivefold Path for happy living on the planet. By practicing the Fivefold Path you become better members of your society, group, religion, community, etc.
