Agnihotra on Bali

Robert Bagnall

Bali is a place where much of the ancient ways are still honored and practiced, yet much has also been forgotten, and the westernization of the culture seems to be gaining momentum among the youth here. As Smart Phones and the internet are having a major impact on the culture, the ancient knowledge of the Vedas has also returned and today we are blissfully witnessing a resurgence of interest in Agnihotra by locals and foreign visitors who come to Bali to partake of the beauty and reconnect with nature.

Thanks to the growing body of evidence that Agnihotra and Homa Therapy offer an effective way to mitigate the effects of pollution and harmful radiation, many are taking a closer look and beginning to see past their cultural prejudices to discover their innate affinity for this science based ancient knowledge that we all enjoy and benefit from as we share it throughout our world.

Today, as a result of the many seeds that have been sown, many are coming to embrace the practice of daily Agnihotra and, in particular, the people associated with the NewEarth Nation here on Bali and elsewhere around the world. The NewEarth Nation is actively sharing this knowledge with their community members through http://ArksofFire.com as well as http://NewEarthNation.org. Dr. Nancy Ash, Global Director of the NewEarth Nation, recently emphasized the importance of Agnihotra in a letter she sent to me describing it as seminal to the work of the NewEarth Nation community and, as such, it is now being implemented here on Bali as a part of our organic farming practices. It is also performed daily here at the NewEarth Haven and ClearCafe. Both are highly frequented locations which are very public venues where many are being introduced to Agnihotra for the first time.

The Homa Organic Farm we are creating here on Bali will supply food for the Akasha Restaurant. Other goals and objectives include making available to interested local farmers an example of alternatives to the chemical farming methods currently employed here on the majority of farms. We plan to illustrate and feature the benefits and improved profitability of Homa Organic Farming methods.

Akasha Restaurant is where Agnihotra will be performed daily in addition to the farm. Homa Therapy information will be shared and Agnihotra will be taught each week in our common area Super Dome currently under construction. In Bali’s largest natural swimming pool Agnihotra ash will be used to restore balance as well as provide mineral nutrition and ph buffering for the plant life that will maintain the purity of the water without the need for chemicals.

Akasha is on target to open in the month of June 2016. Another location, in Ubud, named Nectar will also highlight Homa Grown juices and vegi-wraps (which are similar to Spring Rolls) and serve as a conduit and invitation for visiting travelers to further explore the NewEarth Haven home stay options, including a visit  to Akasha Restaurant to experience Agnihotra and Homa Therapy. It is our hope that many will be able to assist us with the many tasks and responsibilities on the farm, including Agnihotra and Om Tryambakam Homa schedules.

As the Director of Business Planning and Development for BioArc I would also like to extend an invitation to individuals who are interested in learning how to build using bamboo and also how we use bamboo to design and build bio-energetic structures that create a perfect complimentary space for living a healthy holistic lifestyle.

It truly is a time of great transformation and, as such, it is a time when all things are now possible that only a few years ago were difficult to envision. Our hearts are open and our minds are fertile for Homa Therapy, this ancient solution to modern pollution, to take root and be recognized as the powerful energetic force for restoration of our environment and our health that it truly is.

24-Hour Full Moon Fire in Lima, Peru

Jessica Auza

Tryambakam 24 hrs Jessica
Evening Agnihotra at Jessica Auza´s house in Lima, Peru during April´s full moon day 24-hour Om Tryambakam fire.

For many years our dear Shree Vasant Paranjpe visited Peru, spread His message of love, and inspired many to practice Homa Therapy fires to heal Mother Earth and ourselves. Many seeds were planted and people continue to practice these ancient healing fires in their homes, on farms, at medical centers, etc.

On the full moon day in April, 2016 a group of Agnihotris met in Lima, the capital, to keep the Om Tryambakam fire going for 24 hours. As we know, at Homa farms and Homa Therapy centers around the world, Om Tryambakam fire is practiced for 4 to 5 hours daily and performed for 24 hours on new moon and full moon days. We can also tune in and help create harmony and healing from our own homes, whether we are in the countryside or in the city.

It has been our experience that in this type of blessed atmosphere created by ongoing fires, love and healing become quite tangible. The mind finds relief and stress from city life dissolves. One can become better equipped to face life´s everyday challenges, and the heart can more easily open and help us feel unity within and with others.

Our prayers go out to inspire others to start practicing Agnihotra and other Homa Therapy healing fires; to those who may have stopped doing so, to resume their practice; to those already committed to healing this planet´s atmosphere, to intensify their devotion to the fires.

New Research on the Beneficial Effects of Agnihotra on Brain Waves

Homa-Hof Heiligenberg, Germany

Agnihotra has a significant effect on brain waves; it relaxes and can generate such peaceful states of consciousness that are otherwise detectable in deep meditation only!

Brain wave research 1
This was also the conclusion of scientists in India in 1989, who made brainwave measurements (EEG) with several persons during  Agnihotra1.

In 2015, further tests were made at the Institut für Kommunikation und Gehirnforschung (Institute for Communication and Brain Research) in Stuttgart, Germany, this time with the latest technology. The physicist and brain researcher Günter Haffelder developed a new method of EEG spectral analysis, which allows detection even of signals of the limbic system (processing of emotions).

brain wave research 2
With four persons, the necessary electrodes for the EEG (electroencephalogram) were fixed in time before sunset. Three of them have performed Agnihotra for many years; the fourth person did not know Agnihotra. Preparing the Agnihotra provided different results according
to the emotional state of mind of the subjects. After the singing of the mantra something very amazing showed:
With two people, both hemispheres of the brain were working in sync. With the other two people, a significant change in the delta area became visible, which means switching to an increased perception processing.

Despite the slight activity, the four persons all entered a state of relaxation during the Agnihotra! All four subjects showed this rapid and significant change of brain waves after singing the last sound of the mantra.

The mantra seems to act as a trigger and puts everyone involved in a higher spiritual level of consciousness, which opens other areas of perception.

Striking is the synchronicity of all those involved. This also applies to the person for whom Agnihotra was unknown and who was only sitting there.

Brainwave3

Mr. Haffelder, who, over decades, has performed countless EEG measurements during long-distance and spiritual healing, meditation techniques and extrasensory perception techniques from many cultures, speaks of an “unexpected and remarkable result“2.

February 16, 2016 On Architects for a New Tomorrow

Yes, yes. This is a time for planting the seeds for MANIFESTATION. You can feel or sense growth beginning to burst through the boundaries, those self-imposed and those erected by forces outside of you.

This is a time of breaking through boundaries, an excellent time for deep visualization and strengthening one’s inner depths of devotion.

It is not only via prayer and meditation, but also by taking resolute action with positive intent to heal situations and beings with whom you interact. Release resentments. Time to move forward, while still time of hibernation in winter. This is the time to generate and germinate, so that when Spring arrives, you will be prepared for the revolution-evolution of spirit rising! Indeed, powerful times.

We are engineers, architects for a new tomorrow.

Blessings abound.

We are, ORION.

February 25, 2016 On Sound and Fire
Yes, yes. Times are changing. The focus, of course, is shifting and deepening, if you will. The element of Sound as woven with the element of Fire holds powerful keys which unlock and release content submerged within, just as you dig for minerals, stones. With Sound and Fire, all the elements are able to be tapped and thus, released.

March 3rd 2016 On Celebrating the Myriad of Humankind
We observe the human tendency to label and define, rather than to explore and comprehend—rather than to reveal differences as shades of the same humanity, embracing and celebrating the myriad of humankind. We see instead, a marked tendency to establish a way of defining and determining types rather than individuals. There is a box for everyone and everyone is thus installed in a box! Do guard against these very tendencies in your own awareness, all of you. Because in defining and labeling the individuality which creates diversity or the diversity which creates individuality, so much is lost.

Champion that which defies definition! Celebrate that which is unique, original and groundbreaking! Understand the differences and unite, with all your magnificent shades of being, as One Humanity. It is in the blending and uniting of humanity’s various cultures that you all shine, as ONE. OM.

I had many problems with my sinuses and I could not touch my forehead due to the pain caused by the sinusitis. I also had a continuously runny nose, especially when it was very cold or very hot. Besides, I also had allergies to dogs and cats.

I came to SENA (National Learning Service), to participate every Saturday in the Agnihotra sessions led by Prof. Pedro Henry Ariza. I deeply inhaled the smoke and took the Agnihotra ash. My allergy and sinusitis left. I am completely healthy.

I am 36 years old. I just participated in the Agnihotra session in Botica Sol. I also came last Saturday. I could not bring my mother, because she’s sick, so I got some Agnihotra ash for her and gave it to her with a little water.

She suffers from insomnia. She has high cholesterol and triglyceride levels, an aneurysm, a kidney disease, high blood pressure and gastric ulcers. She hardly sleeps. We say jokingly that she is the night guard.

But when she took the Agnihotra ash, she slept all night long. In the morning she got up for a while and went back to bed. I was almost scared, because never in my life she had gone back to sleep. It was already 11 A.M. and she was still asleep. It turned out that she had slept peacefully and then got up relaxed and very well. The next day, Sunday afternoon, I gave her again some Agnihotra ashes with water and again she slept pleasantly. Since then, she sleeps peacefully. She even sleeps after lunch, something she never did before.

This happened by only giving her some Agnihotra ash! Now she also has more energy and is more enthusiastic.

She is 70 years old and she had this sleeping problem for 20 or 30 years. I am going to bring her to the Botica so she can also participate in the Homa Fires.

From Shree Vasant’s Teachings

Keep Good Company
It is said that misery loves company. Then we choose people who will allow us to remain unhappy. We look for others to feel sorry for us, who will listen readily to our tales of woe. Instead, let us seek out people who can help us come out of our negative state of mind. Let us keep good company.

We Have the Key to Happiness
Why be miserable? The mind can be trained. Agnihotra pyramid fire calms the mind and sets the stage for tranquility and peace of mind. However, the pull of old habits and tendencies remains. If we do not give in to every pull, eventually it will cease. We can train the mind to resist the negative habit patterns. IT IS IN OUR HANDS.  There is no reason to be miserable. We have the key to happiness, yet we persist in our own misery.

Service, the Easiest Way to Train the Mind
Try to think, “What can I do to help the other person? What kind words can I speak? What good deeds can I perform WITH NO EXPECTATION, only to serve? How can I help my fellows? How can I be of service?” Think like that. There is no question of self-pity. Do you not realize how many people are suffering in the world today? Let us be grateful for the Grace given to us that we are able to serve and we have the knowledge of healing fires.

On Accusing Another Person
One must be absolutely certain before accusing another person of wrongdoing. Otherwise, one becomes outraged and loses perspective on the problem at hand. If, however, one is certain beyond any doubt of another’s misdeed, then comes the question, “How can I better serve this person?”

Will telling him directly about our knowledge of the misdeed help or solve the problem?

Is there any action that can be taken which will provide a no-blame solution to the problem?

Thirdly, if the misdeed is of grave concern and may endanger the safety of others, then it may be possible that the solution is out of our hands. If at all possible, we should try to solve such difficulties among ourselves, so that we always consider the other person before we act and then act accordingly.

If we think, “How can I best serve this individual?” then the answer will be provided by Divine Grace.

On Anger
All actions have consequences. If you become angry, then that anger is again set back upon you. It is like that. Everything must be worked out quickly and also wisely. Let us not allow ourselves to be embittered or resentful. Let us accept others as and where they are. So from this moment let us say to ourselves, “I will not get angry under any circumstances, no matter how trying that situation is. I will overcome the urge to indulge in angry thoughts, words and actions.”

Mantras help a great deal to achieve this state. Practice of Agnihotra Homa will be the biggest help to practice this. Practice of Fivefold Path will totally lift you up from a state of anger and usher you into the Kingdom of Joy which is within.

Feel Love for Those Who Trouble You
You look into the eyes of those who trouble you; feel only love for them. You rise a little higher and everywhere is love. Never complain. Do not complain about those who trouble you. They know not what they do. When love comes, you will be ashamed for ever feeling otherwise. This is the way all should be.

Fivefold Path for Happy Living

  1. Perform AGNIHOTRA for purification of the atmosphere which leads to automatic purification of mind.
  2. Practice DAAN (sharing of assets in a spirit of humility to reduce attachment to worldly possessions).
  3. Practice TAPA (becoming better managers of our energy expenditure by training the body and mind to react to all circumstances in life with Total Love. Self-discipline of body, mind and speech.)
  4. Perform KARMA (every action for self purification only and thus no expectations which bind us to the material world. “You reap as you sow.”)
  5. Practice SWADHYAYA (Self-study) for liberation. Who am I? Why am I here? My work on this planet is to learn to react with total LOVE with each opportunity given to me.

This is the Fivefold Path for happy living on the planet. By practicing the Fivefold Path you become better members of your society, group, religion, community, etc.
