Purification of Water by Agnihotra

Dr. Ulrich Berk

Scientific experiments have shown Agnihotra purifies the air of pathogenic bacteria, reduces harmful chemicals in the air such as NOx and SOx, and also reduces the quantity of particulate matter in the air (which is harmful for our respiratory system.)

Scientific experiments also show that Agnihotra and Agnihotra Ash purify water. We are advised to add Agnihotra Ash to our drinking water, and many of us are doing so regularly. Why is that recommended? The reason is: Agnihotra Ash removes pathogenic bacteria from water. This has been tested a number of times. One impressive experiment was done by Dr. John Matlander of Cuenca, Ecuador.

Dr John Matlander:
“The experiment involved a gallon of infected water that I had for several weeks. Before using it, I requested a doctor to analyze it with a potent microscope. He told me that the water was cultivating fungi, staphylococcus and streptococci. Before throwing it away, I put some of this water in a 200 ml glass and added two teaspoons of Agnihotra ash. I mixed it well and left it for 3 days.

“Then I returned it to the doctor and asked for further investigation with the microscope and he said, ‘Completely pure water.’ So I told him that this was the same water he had analyzed 3 days ago and the doctor thought that this was impossible, completely impossible. But it happened this way; the Agnihotra ash had made this water completely pure.”

 That means: Agnihotra purifies water.

But even if we do not add Agnihotra Ash to water but just keep water in some bottle next to the Agnihotra fire, the water gets purified. This was shown by Dr. John Matlander in an additional experiment.

There was a 77% reduction in the number of colonies containing Klebsiella and Enterobacterium S.P. and an 81% reduction in Escherichia Coli.

Similar experiments done in Maheshwar Homa Therapy Goshala, Madhya Pradesh, India confirmed this result: Just keeping water in some container next to the Agnihotra fire purifies water. This leads to the hypothesis that not only Agnihotra Ash, but also the fumes of Agnihotra have the potency to purify water. But what happens if the water bottles are closed so that neither ash nor fumes of Agnihotra get into contact with the water examined? The water still got purified!  Parameters measured were COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), DO (Dissolved Oxygen), pH, total hardness, and count of coliform bacteria.

Quite an astonishing result, as in this experiment – different from those mentioned before – there was no contact with Agnihotra Ash or with Agnihotra fumes. Therefore, the effect cannot be explained by some sort of chemical reaction.

It seems there is some kind of energy field around the Agnihotra fire which brings about this effect of water purification.

We have seen that Agnihotra Ash, Agnihotra fumes, and even just proximity to Agnihotra fire are helping to purify water. All these experiments were done using small quantities of water. The water was kept in bottles of 200 ml up to 1 litre.

But what about larger bodies of water?
Pollution of rivers, lakes, and oceans is a big environmental concern. But of course that is a big challenge to achieve some improvement. Still, some initial results could be obtained.

The following photos show one part of the Narmada River, Madhya Pradesh, India, before and after Agnihotra Ash had been added. Within three days a big improvement could be seen:

Narmada River before Agnihotra Ash was added
Narmada River after Agnihotra Ash was added

This shows that it is a very good habit to regularly add some of your Agnihotra Ash to water bodies in your vicinity. If you have your own well, then best to do so regularly.

But not only the Agnihotra ash helps – also the healing atmosphere of Agnihotra (and other Homa fires) helps to purify water. Below see the results of monitoring the water quality of the Narmada River in Central India. Water samples were taken at Omkareshwar upstream from the Homa Therapy Goshala (which is situated next to the banks of the Narmada River), adjacent to our Homa Therapy Goshala and further downstream at Barwani. In all the different parameters, the water next to this Homa Therapy Goshala was best – and it was the only place where the water was fulfilling the standards set by the World Health Organization. This initial result shows that Homa places do have an effect on larger water bodies such as a big river.

Somayag–Part IV

A Review of the First Six Somayags, Continued

The sixth Somayag in the series of seven was the Atiratra Somayag. This particular Somayag
specifically injects nutrition and healing into the atmosphere especially for night creatures
and the darkness itself.

The Atiratra Somayag was performed from February 3-8th, 2015. Deekshit Achal Apte was the Yajaman.

(From left, seated) Bhakti (the Patni, wife of the Yajaman), Yajaman Achal Apte and their son Sudaksha at the opening ceremony. The blessed items shown on the small table were placed around the Yajnya shala in an energetic clearing of the space.

Pravargya.
The Soma, in a white cloth bundle, is freshened regularly by the Rutviks.

Churning fresh fire through friction–a labor-intensive process.

Celebrating with dancing and drumming, on the way to the Narmada River for bath at the conclusion of the Somayag.
Yajaman Achal blesses participants with water from the Narmada. Before the bath, many implements used in the Somayag are thrown into the river, thus charging the water with energy from the Somayag.

To be continued.

There will be FIRES which dispel negative energy. There will be FIRES which send forth
healing smoke into the atmosphere. One such fire is the SOMAYAG which you will be
attending. This Somayag is connected to calling forth the *SOUND CURRENT. At this
Somayag, those attending would do well to bring musical instruments which they will
play themselves. That is to say, if one brings a flute, only that person should play it. It is
important that the SOUNDS be harmonious. OM.

*Shree Vasant Paranjpe told that at the proper time, a SOUND CURRENT will emanate from
the Narmada River in Maheshwar and be a crucial part of healing the planet.

Yes. Yes. This is the seeding of the clouds. This is the calling for healing rains. This
YAJNYA will accelerate the speed at which humans evolve. Of course, all over the world
there is a quickening of the human spirit, an activation if you will, an alignment of planetary
chakras.

All energetic tools assist in the manifestation of Light, in the transformation into Light
bodies. Some particular ‘elements’ activate or catalyze faster and clearer—FIRE, THE ELEMENT
OF TRANSFORMATION.

Healing with Homa Therapy

Ganapathi

Lalitha and Ganapathi outside the Yajnya Shala at Om Shree Dham

I was born in deep tradition, adorning the Vibhuti (Holy Ash) on the forehead to go to school; still, little did I know of the potency and power of the Vedic way of life.  For the most part of my early childhood and even adulthood it was all just traditions to follow.

Later when I got into a few spiritual circles I became more aware of the meaning of these traditions and the principles on which they were built.  When I delved a bit more into spirituality I came to understand the power of subtle energies and how they could influence and make a profound effect on the individual, society and the environment.

Living in a mundane world steeped in materialism and so-called rationalist thought, one succumbs to questions like, “How can that be?”, “Where is the evidence?”, “This not how it is,” etc. With that background, one day, my wife Lalitha brought home the news of Agnihotra. It intrigued me that this had come from westerners who were unlikely to have had exposure to Vedic traditions.  But, putting all that aside, I sat with my wife to do Agnihotra at sunrise and sunset.

I continued on with Agnihotra and did not expect anything.  One day, in my backyard garden, the standard rose plant took me by surprise.  This plant was there some time ago and perhaps due to neglect, it almost dried up looking dead. But then this almost dead rose started blossoming with new shoots and looked healthy and vibrant. My wife said she had applied Agnihotra ash to the rose.  That startled me. The rose continues to grow and flower year after year.

Then came the second incident. The lemon tree.  One summer, when we were away it was not watered and started to dry.  I just left it hoping that it may revive.  After sometime, I noted a lot of new growth on the plant.  It eventually started to yield lemons every year.  There again, it is the play of Agnihotra ash which my wife has diligently applied.

The miracles of Agnihotra ash continued on. Our son had developed some warts on his back from the swimming pool.  We did the usual treatments and ointments as per medical advice but the warts kept coming back.  At that point, Lalitha applied an ointment made of Agnihotra ash and ghee. Though it meant all the bed sheets were stained with ash and ghee she persevered with the treatment. The warts vanished forever.

After these experiences, I could see how Agnihotra could be utilized on farms to transform the environment and give great yields.  Eventually we made it to Om Shree Dham, the Agnihotra farm of Frits and Lee in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales, Australia.  There we refined our practice and witnessed a thriving Agnihotra farm. I experienced the transformational effect Homa Therapy has on people and our minds. Lalitha noted how the entire atmosphere in and around the farm is so distinctly full of life and joy.  I saw how cheerful and happy the couple is on their farm and their dedication to Agnihotra. They shared so many experiences:  the underground water that changed from overly alkaline to PH neutral, from saline to potable; how the ground water miraculously changed direction to flow under the Agnihotra hut, gathering prana along the way, was remarkable and inspiring.

We drove for almost 24 hours (return trip) from the farm to home in Melbourne, Victoria and did not feel any sign of tiredness. It was a pleasant holiday that rejuvenated us both physically and energetically.

Jan and her three dogs, Sol, Bo and Spirit.

February this year my pet dog Sol began to walk with great discomfort and that quickly progressed to screaming pain. He has weakness in the last disc from a spur and some arthritis.
It was a long, slow journey to specialty vets and extensive tests, rest, nerve blockers, anti-inflammatory tabs and cortisone injections into the spine–not a happy situation.

When Sol lay down, his hind leg would give him tremendous pain. (I was having similar trouble with my sciatica as soon as I lay down.) I was praying, clearing energy, doing hands-on healing and performing sunset Agnihotra.

Sol, healthy and happy again.

My three dogs, all brothers, would sit close by the fire and suddenly it dawned on me to feed Sol, and all of us, the Agnihotra ash. I put it in their food and I consumed the ash as well regularly.

I suddenly noticed how Sol’s eyes were sparkling again and he was becoming his old HAPPY self, moving with ease, rolling onto his back–such a marked improvement after four months of constricted movement. We were all feeling happier and my sciatica healed up as well.

I cut his nerve medication down and realized that once I had started feeding him the Agnihotra ash he didn’t need his nerve blockers anymore. We could begin walking on the beach and Sol has returned to his beautiful Top Dog Self. The three brothers turned ’13’ on October 31, 2016.

From Shree Vasant’s Teachings

On Thoughts
Thoughts are seeds we put into the atmosphere. If your thoughts are of love, then you help to purify the atmosphere.

On Anger
Cast away all anger. It is so simple. Pride nourishes anger. Knock out all self-importance. It is a game one plays with oneself, thinking one is important, when one is merely an instrument.

On Speech
The words we speak can give blows of love or blows of anger. It is our choice. HIS will is love.

On Purity of Thought
All the time praise. Praise God in all you meet. Everyone is a child of God. You admire your beloved Master. This is purity of thought. Acquire this attitude of honor and humility and praise all. Always think of the other person’s needs before your own. Leave aside jealousy and greed, envy and pride. Be still.

On Self-Development
Let us curb our anger. Let us curb our desires and go face-to-face with the six crocodiles which haunt us, i.e., anger, greed, lust, envy, pride, attachment, because to be a messenger of peace, one must behave as such. No one is perfect, but let us at least take the responsibility to try to attain that perfect state of, “I and my Father are One.”

In realizing one’s own imperfections one must thereby inculcate the quality of compassion for others. Knowing that I myself am not yet perfect, how can I expect others to be? Let me try to understand. Let me have compassion for others. Let me never harbor jealousy, greed, anger. Let me be as pure an instrument of Divine Love as I am able to be at this time.

Fivefold Path for Happy Living

1. Yajnya
HOMA Therapy is the science of purification of the atmosphere through the agency of FIRE. AGNIHOTRA HOMA (YAJNYA) is the basic HOMA. It is tuned to the biorhythm of sunrise/sunset and gives nutrients to the plant kingdom, removes diseases in a certain area and removes tension on the mind. This is the basic process in the science of medicine, agriculture, climate engineering and interplanetary communication.
2. Daan
Sharing of your assets in a spirit of humility. This corrects imbalance in financial matters and creates non-attachment to worldly possessions.
3. Tapa
Self-discipline of body and mind. This is conducive to a change in attitudes of mind and body. It results in a harmonious state of mind.
4. Karma
“You reap as you sow.” Always practicing good Karma (actions) diminishes the burden of negative Karma and one begins to invest in his own future. This means that what you do today will bring its fruits. Sowing seeds of love and kindness will bless my garden with plenty of love. Do Karma for self purification.
5. Swadhyaya
Practice Swadhyaya (Self-study) for liberation. Who am I? Why am I here? My work on this planet is to learn to react with total LOVE with each opportunity given to me.
This is the Fivefold Path for happy living on the planet. By practicing the Fivefold Path you become better members of your society, group, religion, community, etc.
